Signing up for an account on a major cam network is a big step, but where to go from there can be confusing and even intimidating. The answer on what to do next depends on your network, but let’s take a look at Stipchat specially for ideas on what comes next after creating a new account.
Stripchat is one of the industry’s major cam networks, with new models joining daily. So, how can you stick out and succeed when there are hundreds, if not thousands, of other models online? Here are some tips to help you start off strong on Stripchat.
Important Things to Know When You’re New
First note that when you join as a new model, you will get a “boost” with a “new” banner for two weeks. This will push you higher on the site’s main page, which increases your chances of being noticed. During this time, log on as long and as often as you can to keep yourself boosted, even after your promo period is over.
Next up, make sure you link your Stripchat account to your Twitter profile and tag them in your posts. They are really good about retweeting and promoting all their models. This is a great way to get promo, even if you aren’t online.
Here’s something unique that’s a big useful deal: Stripchat helps you identify the users most likely to spend money. You may notice different colors for usernames and wonder what these colors mean. Standard colors are gray, green, gold, and red.
Red users are other models. They will only show up red in messages but will appear gray in live chat.
Gold means this user pays a monthly membership fee which allows him to become “knights” (a room moderator). They can message models, as well as use the emojis in chat.
Green is someone who has tokens available, and gray users have no tokens. A gray user with a green “ex” means they have bought tokens and tipped previously but don’t currently have tokens. If you hover over each user’s name you will be able to see stats about them, message them, write notes about them and, should you need to, you can mute or ban them.
Complete Your Profile
Next up, don’t forget to setup your profile. Having a good profile picture is great but having your cover photo is going to be a huge help too. This is the picture everyone will see when they go to your room if you’re offline, in a private chat or online but haven’t begun broadcasting.
Try to provide a variety of photos and videos on your profile too. This will give people a chance to see more of you and, if you sell any of them, it’s a great way to make some money while you’re offline.
Filling out your bio can be another big help. Tell a little about yourself, including your likes and dislikes, and think of something that makes you unique. Do you sing? Maybe you make art? This will entice users to want to watch and learn more about you.
They also have a section to add tags. This will make it easier for people to find you when you’re live, and you can add up to ten different tags for both public and private shows.
Stay Focused!
Being a top cam model isn’t easy. It takes a lot of time, dedication, and work. What works for someone else may not work for you. But utilizing all the different tools that Stripchat provides is a great way to help get you on the road to success.
