This is how MsMochaExxxstacy introduces herself on her personal site, msmochaexxxstacy.com. Aspirational, for sure, but when you consider all the amazing strides she’s made in the adult business, as well as all the goals she continues to work toward, introducing herself as “the Queen” may actually be a bit of an understatement.
We got the chance to speak with Ms. Mocha about her path into and through the industry, as well as where she sees herself in the future — and why cutting out the middleman is key.
YNOT Cam: Can you tell us a bit about your background in the industry?
MsMochaExxxstacy: I’m a 38-year-old Harlem native. My family later migrated to the South, which now feels like more home to me. I’ve been in the industry roughly over twenty years. I started working in strip clubs even before I was of legal age to dance.
Things were different back the. Girls would travel out of state to work at clubs where they couldn’t be easily recognized. If you had ID and money for tip out, you could get in the rotation for the night. Working in clubs led to other opportunities. I’ve done parties for a number of celebrities… I’ve had my own exotic dancing business that I ran with a family member for several years until I took another stab at college and received my Bachelor’s in Nursing, which caused me to take a break from the adult entertainment industry.
How did you make the transition from dancer to being the driving force behind a significant collection of adult sites?
Throughout the years, I still dabbled in dancing. I ran into a friend who was a well-known porn star and asked me to shoot for her website. I had done twerk videos for her before but never anything involving intercourse. She told me I could pick the talent I was most comfortable with, so I chose my transsexual best friend Jazz. We had so much fun it barely felt like work, and I made good easy money.
I knew if the opportunity was presented again I would give it another try, and I did. I went on to shoot for other companies doing online work, publications and DVDs.
What are some challenges you’ve observed or experienced in the industry?
There will come challenges in this industry, like knowing who you can trust. Before I started doing all my own work, I had to pay someone to do everything. I also found that you can run into multiple issues because people aren’t always as honest as they seem or don’t exactly have your best interest at heart.
I was glad to meet my webmaster, Ty Strokes, who eventually taught me everything I needed to know to run my website efficiently and to direct and gain traffic to produce sales and revenue. Learning to become a webmaster is probably one of the most beneficial things I have done throughout my years in the industry. I eliminate a lot of issues by cutting out the middleman and being the only man!
Can you tell us more about Camilly Entertainment?
Camilly Entertainment was the brainchild of my husband. He started the company before we met. My husband performed on cam for years and built two websites — dmvheadcrew.com and blackamateurfreaks.com. We later together relaunched blackamateurfreaks.com and established my site msmochaxxxstacy.com, as well as mslylaeverwettte.com and bcmxxxamateur.com, which are all pay sites.
All our pay sites have recently been converted to CCBill and Elevated X. We offer multiple billing and streaming options. In the future, we plan on continuing to shoot awesome footage and crank out two more pay sites in 2019. We plan to start shooting for the new sites this spring and have hopes to them launched by the end of the year along with my personal site’s relaunch.
Outside of your work, what are you most passionate about?
I really don’t have much of a life outside of work. There always seems as if there’s something to do. I spend a lot of time researching and learning ways to perfect my business and grow. I invest a lot of time learning — when I’m not working, there is always something new to learn in this business. I not only remain active on my social medias, I also to stay active on adult industry boards.
Taking the time to learn and really investing in your brand is imperative for longevity and making real money. The more you learn to do yourself, the less you have to pay someone else. Learning such software as Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress along with learning some basic HTML, CSS and PHP are a good start if you eventually want to learn to operate and manage your own websites. Stay consistent, and invest, invest, invest!
