AVN’s Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE) is NEXT WEEK — January 23rd through the 26th — and the AVN Awards/Cardi B concert is the 26th. (Please tell me you know Cardi B is the musical entertainment at the awards show…)
If you’ve attended these events in the past, you’re well aware of how important it is to stay hydrated, rested and sharp during the lonnng days and action-packed nights. If this is your first time attending… well, maybe you are feeling a bit overwhelmed right about now?
Not to worry!
Thankfully, there are plenty of people who’ve been there and are happy to share the various ways they’ve got through this deliciously busy time in the past. So if this year’s AEE is your first — or fifth — take a look at these tips, and make the most of your time at the show!
Claim and fill your space
Brittany Benz suggests that — if you’re a cam model and plan to cam from your booth — make sure you bring your laptop and charger. “Get there early because spots fill QUICK,” she added. “Claim your spot—early birds truly get the worms there.”
Benz also suggests you bring photos and prints to populate your space; you can then sign them for fans. “I also bring a jar that says ‘TIPS,’ so, when people come by and ask for pictures, you can ask them to tip you,” Benz says.
She adds that a lot of models bring business cards, but she prefers stickers because it “seems like people throw them away a lot less.”

Set a schedule
Shawna Lenee suggests creating an Expo routine for each day of the event.
“Get up at the same time every day and manage that time into your schedule,” she says. “I set aside three hours of getting-ready time before I hit a show floor and three hours of relaxing time before it’s time for make-up/hair. So, if I need to start signing at 3 p.m., I know I need to start my hair and makeup at 12 p.m. and wake-up by at least 9 a.m.!”
“I have pretty strict expo schedules for myself,” Lenee added, “but they have helped me manage my expo days like a pro!”

Maintain your health
Georgia Jones swears by Airborne or Emergen-C, and “lots of it.” She also advises models to take “hand sanitizer with you everywhere.”
Benz recommends that models start taking vitamin C packets weeks before the actual event. “[The packets will] prepare your immune system for all the germs you’re about to experience,” Benz said. “There are so many people coming from different states and countries; everyone is in one building, so it’s important to prepare your immune system!”
Other accessories Jones suggests you have on hand include lotion, chapstick and bandaids, because “lots of walking in heels causes pain.”
If you want to mitigate some of that pain, Benz suggests you bring a cute pair of flats or sneakers.
And don’t forget to eat. If you can’t squeeze in lunch, Athena Rayne suggests giving Shakology — a meal replacement — a try. Rayne adds that certain essential oils, such as Young Living Essential Oils, could help calm your nerves and boost happiness.
Also: WATER, and lots of it… “Drink it; don’t just play with it,” Jones adds with a knowing tone. “I’m pretty sure I typed that in my annoyed mothering control freak voice! In my head, I sound like Charlie Brown’s teacher.”

Know what you’re going to wear
Lenee suggests planning and maintaining a wardrobe schedule. She advises to plan three outfits a day — a casual, day and night ensemble.
“Have them all organized by outfit and ready to go as the trip goes on,” Lenee says. “This helps save time and manages my stress level!”
And Jones suggests that you don’t forget to bring a coat. Although the event is in Las Vegas, it’s winter, and the weather will most likely be cold.
Take the time to prep up and have a great show!
