We recently received two very important questions from a member of our community. Luckily, we were able to reach out to two very important people — Kaiia Eve and Chellsterz — to help answer them.
Read on to learn more about the chicken and the egg — get on cam first, or build a following first — as well as rules and limitations regarding what you can and cannot do during a broadcast.

Question: Do you think that it’s best to create a bit of a following first on a site like Snapchat Premium, MyGirlFund, FetLife, or ebanned before starting on a cam site?
Kaiia Eve: I am incredibly familiar with premium Snapchat, and I used to be more active on MyGirlFund, but the tier payout system is not as beneficial for me.
Premium Snap is an excellent way to keep in touch with fans and show BTS footage of my life, cam shows, clips I create, etc. I put two to three hardcore shows up a week that include solo, f/m and sometimes f/f or f/ts shows and daily nudes. I interact with all of my premium viewers, and I run my platform through fancentro. I sell private individual snaps. I do also have a public snap where I announce tweets, news, new videos and post funny shit that I say and do in my daily life. I love to dab, spit, pee and make self loathing jokes to get through the day. I in turn display this erotic and weird behavior on twitter and snapchat for [people] to see.
I started in the adult industry without any social media previously made. It wasn’t until I was actively camming on Chaturbate that I noticed I needed to create a Twitter. Twitter is the number one place for the cam/adult community to connect with others and announce their up to date content and shows. Once you make a Twitter, it is honestly up to you and what you think would be the best platform for your audience. For instance, some peoples’ fans prefer OnlyFans, and some sex workers prefer it. Some prefer Snapchat, and some prefer only selling customs through MyGirlFund or ManyVids.
You just have to find the right rhythm that works the best for you and your brand. There are so many different platforms you can make money on though so do not limit yourself to just one.
Nominations are until August 10th!!!!!!!!!!

Chellsterz: The only site of that list that I have experience with is Snapchat Premium. I think it is definitely a good idea to get established on some form of social media, including Snapchat, shortly before you start camming, however I wouldn’t worry too much about growing a following before you start camming.
When you have a new account on a camsite, they drive quite a bit of traffic to you. Log on cam and have social media to promote so that you gain more viewers who are going to come back and invest their time and money in you. This way, once your new model status expires, you will have created a solid foundation for yourself.

Question: What cam sites do you think are the best for payouts and what you can/cannot do on cam? I want to get the most payout for my shows — like 50 percent or even 80 percent if that’s possible.
Kaiia Eve: I have found the best camsite for me and my audience is Chaturbate, hands down. They are by far the most inclusive camsite, which is incredibly important to me and my personal values and morals. I love working with all people of different strokes, and I entirely appreciate that Chaturbate allows me to perform with whoever I would like, as long as their ID is submitted and confirmed they are 18+ [years of age].
Their payout is average just like other frequently used camsites. I do wish I could smoke weed on camera on Chaturbate but being able to perform with whoever I like is much more important [to me] than being able to consume cannabis on camera. There is a giant stigma associated with smoking marijuana, and I would love for it to end considering I use marijuana for medicinal purposes and it is legalized in my state. I understand though that it is a privilege to be able to smoke cannabis freely and while I may not be able to smoke on camera, I understand there are hundreds of thousands of people unable to legally access medicinal marijuana everyday.
Chellsterz: Chaturbate is a popular site that has decent payout and accepts couples. The Terms of Service on Chaturbate do state that smoking marijuana (even if legal where you are) is not permitted. I don’t know how strictly they enforce this rule.
If you’re willing to take a chance on a new site, I strongly recommend SpankChain. SpankChain rules state that it is okay to smoke weed on cam if it is legal in your state. They also allow couples on cam! Spankchain currently has no fees (100 percent earnings to the model), which will increase to five percent fees once the beta period has ended. This is a camsite run entirely on cryptocurrency (ETH to be exact), so you will need some working knowledge of crypto. Luckily there is a large community of viewers and models who are very happy to help.

Editor’s Note: We LOOOVE Chris Crocker, so jealous/happy for you!
In 2013 I met one of my true idols in life @ChrisCrocker. It was my first vacation I ever took on my own. I was out in Hollywood, depressed over a break up wanting to die. Thanks for dancing with me & changing my trip for the better, probably don’t know it, but you helped save me pic.twitter.com/WnAyCVMHYT
