Welcome to #Cammunity Chatter, an occasional roundup of some of the best and sassiest social media statements that speak.
It’s been a rough few weeks. One of the reasons we’re all grieving is because the cam community lost one of its members.
Model and performer Dave Slick died this past weekend. When I wrote this piece, the cause of his death was still being investigated. His death was felt by many in the industry, including Ginger Banks.
Banks posted the following heartfelt tweet earlier this week.
I have so much I want to say right now, but I feel like words will never do it justice. Dave Slick was one of the good ones. The fact that he is gone is heartbreaking. Our community lost an amazing person. I promise to fight for all the things he wanted to accomplish.

I know many of you are grieving right now, and I hope that your sadness will ease soon. Rest in Peace, Dave.
Next up is Lux Alptraum’s thoughts on suicide prevention.
Suicide prevention hotlines are great but they are not a long term solution to mental illness, and if we only care for people when they're at their very lowest point that is, itself, a part of the problem.

This past week, every newscast and blog post has ended with the Suicide Prevention Hotline number and a short PSA. And although I understand this sentiment, it needs to be understood that suicide can’t be stopped by giving suicidal people a phone number to call. It takes a lot more work.
Alex Bishop has some thoughts concerning providing help to new sex workers.
I've seen posts going around from models saying they don't help other Sex Workers because nobody helped them and you have to be smart to do this work. I agree you have to be smart and tough to survive Sex Work but it never hurts to help someone.

It’s true. You do have to be smart to succeed, but kindness makes the journey to the top a bit more palatable.
Next up is a short and simple tweet from Alex Coal.
I've been adulting my ass off today.

Oh, girl — we hear that. Sometimes adulting — paying bills, waking up to an alarm… doing laundry — is just too much.
And finally, here’s Shawna Lenee with a video filled with hope, green leaves and flowers.
This is so exciting!
It's most definitely a flower!
Can't wait to bear fruit!

Yes! I recently noticed that a few of my plants are sporting some flowers, and I, too, am so excited for the vegetables to come.
Have a good weekend! And treat yourselves well.
