Winter is a beautiful time of year.
Sunrises and sunsets make gorgeous pastel landscapes, snow and ice magically sparkle when the sun hits their surface and the cold air can feel invigorating on one’s skin. But let’s be real: Cold weather also makes looking sexy difficult. Really difficult.
Thankfully, you perform inside where it’s warm. So, you don’t need to worry about bundling up before bundling down. You also don’t want to have to blast your heater for an entire day of cam work though. (Your skin doesn’t like the heater one bit, among other reasons.)
So, to help you stay warm—or at the very least warm-ish—during your next cold cam day, we’ve created a list of sexy cold weather tips to help you stay camera-ready.
Try prevention
If you own your own space, try to install windows that are weather-proof and don’t leak air. If you rent — or, if you own and just don’t want to tackle replacing windows — consider any of the following window insulation tips:
- Use rubber weather sealing.
- Try window insulation film.
- Invest in layered or insulated curtains.
After you’ve cold-proofed your windows, consider keeping a warm beverage near your performance space. Warm beverages can keep you hot from the inside out, and, in general, their steam can give off a sexy vibe.
Invest in a nice electric blanket
If you perform on your bed, consider covering your performance space with an electric blanket. Electric blankets come in various sizes, colors and styles. Find one that fits your aesthetic and needs. Prices range from $30 on up.
Use what you’ve got
Consider moving your cam space to a place in your home that tends to be warmer. Upstairs, interior rooms are great options. Maybe even move the show to a hot bath!
Also, if your’e lucky enough to have a fireplace in your home, use it. Not only will it provide heat, it also will give off amazing light and provide a sexy atmosphere.
Opt for hot pieces that cover the parts that don’t need camera time
Lace and little else are crowd pleasers, but their, um, minimal aesthetic can leave you with goosebumps. If the mercury has truly plummeted, it’s time to pull out some warm wear. The following items are still sexy, but pack a much need warm punch on a chilly day:
- Scarves, faux fur slippers, and faux fur hats.
- Silk pajamas that can easily be unbuttoned, paired with a silk robe.
- Don some thick tights and a super warm cardigan, faux fur jacket, or velvet coat.
- If you’re wearing more clothing, consider playing up your makeup. Try body and hair glitter to move viewers’ eyes where you want them.
- A slinky dress or an over-sized but low-cut sweater, and thigh-high or knee-high socks work wonders.
- See-through or mesh clothing.
- And never underestimate the art of the striptease. You can start off fully clothed and work your way down to nothing.
