Anna Coelho is from one of webcam’s emerging global hubs: Colombia. Although the 23-year-old model has just under a year and a half of “cam time” under her belt, she’s already made big strides in the industry.
“From the very first day, this industry has offered me wonderful things, valuable friends and a place in which I feel comfortable, confident and loved: my room,” she said.
Coelho chatted with YNOT Cam about what it’s like being a rising star in the Colombian cam space.

YNOT Cam: What did you do before you were a cam model?
Anna Coelho: Before being a model, I worked for a pharmaceutical multinational. I had a very high position in this company, but — being honest — it didn’t [fullfill me]. It was boring, and it wasn’t what I want to do. As my duties, I had to visit very important doctors and hospitals in my city offering them the new pharmaceuticals my company released. I worked in this for five years, but once I realized about webcam modeling, I knew this was what I wanted to do.
So, how did you hear about cam modeling?
The first time I heard about it was thanks to one beloved friend. She told me someone asked her to be a model. I knew nothing until she explained to me this kind of job and the more she said, the more persuaded I was getting. When I was finally alone, I searched on the internet.
I liked the idea of knowing different cultures, interacting with people from everywhere, being sensual and so pretty. What I like the most, though, was I could be who I am and show my personality .
What are some of the most appealing aspects of cam work, in your opinion?
I love the fact that here women are seen as goddesses. Here, we have the power and are free: free to choose, to speak, to express our opinions, to wear or look how we want. The empowerment of women –- this is definitely the highlight of camming. Also, no one takes control over us, unless it is part of a situation chosen to make [a member] happy. But even in this case, the room is mine and I do, feel and decide as I want. And by the way, this what my members love most about me.
What can models learn on the job about people or humanity?
One thing we learn in this job is to analyze people, to analyze everyone who is around you. We learn to understand what people need and how to tell them what they are begging us to say (often without saying it explicitly) in order for them to feel happy and satisfied. This [skill] will help you in many cases, I can assure it to you. You can get many profits out of it. Reading people is useful in our [offline] lives too. It’s just put it into practice differently on cam.
Cam work helps you reflect on others, but does it help you in terms of self-reflection or personal growth?
Being a webcam model helps you to get confidence in yourself. You recognize your self worth; you feel beautiful, loved and needed; you get in contact with your femininity. You learn to forget that little scar you may have on the left side of your belly and start loving the rest of your fantastic body. The scared and low-self-esteemed girl blooms into a real and invaluable woman.
You come from one of the hottest emerging markets for webcam models. What advice would you offer new models in Columbia looking to get into the industry?
The first and one of my stronger peices of advice to them is to treat this job as a real one. Do not take it like a part-time job or as a job you just do when you need money and then quit. You must take this seriously; as seriously as any other job. When you understand this and work hard, you will see real and tangible results.
It is important to be aware that, like everything in our lives, at the begining it is kind of hard. You just have to be patient and stay the course and never give up. You are rewarded in this industry when you work hard and show this is what you really want.
Also, show your real personality. Do not try to be someone else. Reveal who you truly are in the best of the sense. Men love and adore those girls who are unique, because they will not find other girls like them somewhere [else].
Finally, my last suggestion for the Colombian girls who are considering to work in this industry is to not feel ashamed or embarrassed of saying what we do. Express the name of our job. Otherwise, this work will never be dignified and people will consider you, me and all of us who are webcam models as women without value and dreams. This job is magnificent, and our duty is to make it look as it is.
Outside of camming, what are you most interested in or passionate about?
When I am offline, most of the time I am trying to spend time with my family as much as I can. I am also doing excercise — rollerskating with a group of friends who enjoy this sport as much as me. We do it three times a week, very late at night.
My other passions are books. I am really fascinated by books about love and especially novels. I love the novels by Haruki Murakami. Those books make me think about our reality, reflect about my actions and show me real love still exists.
Another great passion is to help to everyone who really needs it. All my life, thanks to my family and the way I was raised, I help and worry about others. I feel so bad and even cry when I see homeless, elders and children working on the streets to get something to eat. I do not have a foundation yet to support them as they really need it (this is in my future projects), but I do my best. Always when I can, I give them food, sit down side by side with them and talk with them. I try to recommend them some good place to go to get support and treat them like people. I try to make them feel good and a little bit happier.
If you could change one thing about today’s world, what would it be and why?
I would change the closed-mindedness of people. Here is the reason for the violence, hatred, intolerance, murders and the most of the disasters of our world.
Closed-mindedness causes homosexual people to commit suicide and labels others with different physical conditions as apart from what is considered “normal.” Big and endless wars that execute innocent people, men, women and children without exceptions by different religious thoughts which cannot include or accept any other than their own – also caused by closed-mindedness.
If all we accepted the existing differences between us, this what we call the world would be in peace and definitely happy.
Let’s end on a fun note: What’s a quirky fact about you IRL that the public doesn’t know?
There is something that my fans do not know; only people close to me and family know. It is something funny and I want to share with you. There’s nothing that makes me feel more relaxed and happier than driving my car, doing the shopping, or taking my sister to her job wearing pajamas and slippers. I have pajamas of every color and with all the prints you can imagine. If I could, I would wear them every day, every moment. They are so smooth, soft and fresh.
