You know that heart racing, dizzy-with-intensity feeling you get whenever something — skydiving or public speaking, perhaps — pushes you to one of your edges? That’s an adrenaline rush.
Adrenaline, also known as epinephrine, is a hormone that occurs naturally in the human body and plays an important role in the fight-or-flight response. Thrill-seekers and adrenaline junkies often pattern their lives around chasing that sensation –- but not all thrills are conventionally intense.
Take, for instance, learning a new language as an adult.
Learning a new language as an adult is one of the most difficult things to accomplish. According to Business Insider, we generally approach the entire process incorrectly. From assuming adults learn in the same way young people do to attempting to memorize language in a “chronological” manner, we totally screw up the process. So, imagine the adrenaline rush that happens when you manage to get language learning correct.
The epitome of adrenaline, AdrennaLyne, took some time out to talk about what makes her tick and the best way to serve her a shot of wild, intense energy.

YNOT Cam: Tell us a bit about yourself.
AdrennaLyne: Well, they call me AdrennaLyne, but you know this already. I have this nickname so long that even my family calls me this way when I don’t respond to my real [name]. Even though I say that I am from Gotham –- Spoiler alert: I’m not! –- I live in a nice city in Romania, that country with vampires and a lot of cam models.
It’s been five years on 15th of May 2013 at 2:33 p.m. exactly since I started on cam. I feel old already. And no, I am not crazy to remember this date and time. It’s just that it changed my life.
People often ask me for the recipe of success. I smile, put my tongue out and tweet a selfie with me and my cats.
What did you do before you were a cam model? What prompted you to start your career online?
Before camming, I was a full-time atomic kid –- my neighbors and teachers can testify to that –- until I heard rumors about this camming thing in my neighborhood. To be honest with reasons why I started, it was 50 percent the wish to have my own money and to buy things for myself and my family —- recently bought a new iPhone for my sister — and 50 percent the curiosity.
I was not a big fan of camming at the start, though. I often felt “Who are these crazy people [in my room]?”
So, getting accustomed to the work was a challenge?
Yes. And now there are a lot of people who want to know me, both offline and online, and even more who think they know me. Actually, it’s not easy being a cam model. A lot of things happen behind the camera, lots of challenges people never see that we go through –- like, for me, it was really hard to learn English.
There are ups and downs in this work. More downs if you ask me, and I think other models can relate. There’s not so much time for a love life, your family sees you in pictures sometimes and the members can be really complicated.
Outside of camming, what are you most interested in and passionate about?
Top 5
- Superhero movies.
- Playing LOL [League of Legends].
- Petting my cats and dogs.
- Driving and traveling by car.
- McDonalds. If you give me this, I am a happy girl.
You seem to do a lot of comics cosplay, as well some gamer fantasy stuff. How do these interests factor into your work?
I don’t consider myself a geek; I just enjoy my life and do things I like. I think my first cosplay was when I drew the Batman sign on a new T-shirt at age 5 or 6. The passion has continued until today, when I painted a whole wall in my room. And don’t even ask me how many nights I spent with Miss Fortune, Draven and Ashe. Those who know what I mean understand.
If I could change one thing about the world today, it would be to help people understand they can be superheroes day by day, helping the people around them. For me, the greatest superhero is my father, who works in another country but still continues to protect me.

“What’s an atomic kid?” you ask. The Atomic Kid is a film from 1954. When uranium prospector Blix Waterberry accidentally wanders into an active atomic bomb test site, he’s exposed to radiation via a direct blast overhead. He miraculously survives, becoming radioactive and gaining super powers. He’s then recruited by the FBI to help break up an enemy spy ring.
