Cute cat and dog videos are amazing to watch, but there are some occasions when your fur babies should remain off camera.
Obviously, all cam sites are different and have various rules regarding pets on cam. Jamie Rodriguez, director of product at Flirt4Free, gave us the skinny on what’s deemed acceptable on the platform:
Flirt4Free’s policy is animals don’t belong on cam. We’re an adult site, and for legal reasons animals can’t be on an adult site. We stick to that policy.
We know this is hard for models who cam from home and have pets, but we feel it’s appropriate to stick to that policy and encourage models with pets to take breaks and exercise their pets before and after they cam. A lizard or a fish tank hasn’t come up as an issue, and I’m guessing are often too hidden in a cam room for people to notice them.
Our policy really only comes into play with mammals like cats, dogs, etc. The sound of a dog barking isn’t something we’ve given violations for, but also isn’t something I think a customer wants to hear on cam and would be disruptive to a camming session. You want the customer focused on you and how great you are, not your neighbor’s dog.
Pets are a part of many models’ lives, though, and while we all can agree having your pet around during showtime is a big no-no, some models think having a pet pop up on camera every now and again can build their fan base. Others, however, try to keep pets and pet sounds as far away as possible.
AngelNDemon4u
AngelNDemon4u has three dogs and two cats, and she tries her best to keep her pets away from her cam.
Her rules: If one of her pets pops into her room during her cam downtime — like when she’s chatting — she’s OK with their appearance. Luckily, the admins at IMLive don’t have an issue if one of her pets makes an appearance while she’s she’s relaxing.
One pet who sometimes causes trouble is her golden retriever puppy. He’s very playful and attentive, which is great for off-cam time but not so wonderful when AngelNDemon4u is working. However, she’s able to keep her retriever’s buoyant personality at bay by making sure he gets plenty of long walks, runs and squeaky-toy sessions. “I make sure he sleeps long hours while I’m camming — and he does,” AngelNDemon4u said.
Her other pets aren’t a problem. Two additional pups are older and sleep all day. Her cats sleep a lot, too.
“Sometimes they sleep on my bed between the pillows,” she said. “They are hardly visible on cam.”

AngelNDemon4u makes it crystal clear she doesn’t tolerate any fan requests to involve her pets in any type of play. The mere thought of having one of her pets “watching” her gives her the creeps. She also stressed that if any of her fans even hint at involving her pets in sexual acts, she blocks them immediately.
“I don’t tolerate those kinds of psychos in my room,” she said.
AngelNDemon4u said she’s quite lucky most of the people who visit her room are amazing. If one of her animals makes an unexpected visit, fans tend to respond well.
“Last week, I was in public chat,” she said. “My golden puppy woke up, looked at me sitting on my bed and immediately jumped on the bed wanting to play. He was biting my hand and licking my face in front of everyone. I was like, ‘OMG. Sorry guys,’ blushing and wanting him to stop, but he didn’t.
“The guys were very nice and were laughing and also tipping, [but] I believe they were tipping my dog due to his cuteness and not me,” she said, laughing. “It was a very nice and funny moment.”
AngelNDemon4u added most members love animals, and everyone shares stories about their pets. She said pets can be an entertaining topic of conversation and can lead to more fun, in-depth conversations.

Mandy Minx
Mandy Minx, a model for Germany’s CAM4, also tries her best to keep her pets as far from the cam as possible.
“It is generally forbidden to show animals in front the webcam, and I agree with this perspective,” she said.
Pets “on cam” are prohibited on CAM4, she added.
Minx said, in general, her no-pets-on-cam perspective stems from annoyance, as a pet too easily can interfere with a webcam broadcast.
To avoid slip ups, Minx keeps her puppy busy with a good, sturdy long-lasting dog bone.
“[With a bone,] the dog is busy for quite a while and thus cannot interfere with the transmission,” she said.
Minx also makes certain to remove dog toys from her webcam room — “especially the squeaky ones” — just in case.
No system is perfect, and sometimes mistakes happen. Minx has dealt with an unexpected visit from her puppy while performing. Luckily, though, she has trained her dog well and typically can get her pup to retreat from with a clear “no” or “in your place.”
