FanCentro has a mission: to become the destination for models to build their respective fan bases. Can they do it?
Previously known as SnapCentro, FanCentro exists to help cam models survive, thrive and make money on the internet. ModelCentro created the platform after company designers asked users to reflect upon the types of additions that might help them better serve their fans. In fact, the feedback notified the company it was time to re-brand SnapCentro.
“Models want to be able to offer premium accounts on other social media, so the new name will let us expand beyond Snapchat and further the model’s reach,” said Natalie Pannon, head sales and marketing manager for the parent company.
How FanCentro works
FanCentro lets online influencers — models and performers of all kinds — monetize their followings on social media.
Users may log into the site and easily create a simple profile that includes several images, a bio and some basic information, as well as pricing options for subscriptions. From that point, a model can sell access to her private snaps. The system manages subscriptions, updates statuses and gives comprehensive statistics and progress reports. It will automatically remind the model to add or remove users who paid or expired.
FanCentro also hosts a comprehensive directory. The company provides social media marketing, but most converting traffic consists of models’ fans.
Payment, new additions and safety
Earnings on the platform vary greatly, ranging from $100 a month to $1,000 a day.
“The sky is the limit,” Pannon said. “Models who learned to market themselves on Snapchat are definitely making bank with it.”
Models receive 75 percent of the total transactions made through their profile; the platform keeps 25 percent. There are no additional fees, minimum sales or other requirements. Weekly payouts and a wide range of payout methods are built in. Models may choose to receive payments via check, wire transfer, direct deposit (in the U.S.), Firstchoice Pay, Paxum, SEPA (in the European Union) and in the case of non-adult influencers, Paypal. FanCentro also offers users simple credit card processing and a number of region-friendly payment methods (like Sofort for Germany).
Along with the re-brand, which occurred in mid-2017, the platform launched a new feature that allows models to create a page with links to their online persona and profile information without any pressure to make a sale.
“This means they can use it as a landing page for users who can then choose from a number of services or simply follow them on their social media accounts,” Pannon said.
All of a model’s important, confidential information and personal identity are encrypted and only available within a closed network inside the platform for approval and identity checks.
But does it work?
“The service really has become a hit for online influencers,” Pannon said. “Before, [models and performers] were stuck using non-adult-friendly billing services covertly, hoping they would not get banned. They also had to do their own monitoring and management.
“Snapchat is fun and easy to manage,” Pannon continued. “It has a huge audience that is willing to pay for perks, so turning it into a revenue stream has become a brilliant way to work for influencers who are not afraid to conquer a new interactive space.”
Soon, other social media will be added to FanCentro’s capabilities, which could bring a broader range of influencers to the platform.
A model’s perspective
Alina Henessy, a model and performer who works with JulModels, began using Snapchat in September 2016 for promotion purposes. After Henessy discovered she could make money from her snaps, she decided to give FanCentro a spin. She said she’s found success growing followers by using her social networks.
Thus far, Henessy has found Snapchat the most helpful in maintaining her fan base and fan relationships.
“It’s much easier to put stories on Snapchat,” she said. v“It keeps you in contact with fans all the time.”
For example, she noted, it’s difficult to reach fans on Twitter. Henessy said she posts pics and videos on Twitter, but they get lost in the feed very quickly, so it’s hard to maintain fans’ attention.
She effectively turned some of her social media fans into paying fans via a series of smart, social teases.
“[I] mix snaps from [my] normal life, some teasing snaps and sexy snaps to get more attention,” she said. “After some teasing snap sessions — plus [a] promo at the end — I get paid members on FanCentro immediately.”
Henessy added she enjoys using FanCentro.
“It’s easy to use and track my earnings, and I can do it anywhere and anytime,” she said.
She said she also thinks FanCentro is the key to building relationships with fans.
“[Fans could always] find videos of me on the internet, but to get to know me better or to get private, sexy pics and videos or to chat with me wasn’t as easy before,” she explained. “FanCentro makes it possible.”
