Numbers rule the universe, but also the camming world.
The number of viewers you are able to attract to your room will greatly increase your chance of becoming a successful and established cam model. However, without a good plan it’s not always easy to get noticed among hundreds of other models. In this article I’ll provide a few strategies and tactics to newcomers which can help to increase your viewers and fan base.
Firstly, you have to understand what works and what doesn’t.
This is not always straightforward. For example, established models already have a large loyal fan base which will tip them no matter what they do, on the other hand, models who are less established might have fewer good regular tippers, so they tend to do what they like most.
For new cammers it’s a totally different game because they first have to understand the interests, preferences, and demographics of their audience, figure out what they themselves are comfortable to do and then determine what they do best. Therefore, communication is essential. Talk to your viewers as soon as they get into your cam room and learn what they’re searching for. Once you figure out what both you and your audience’s preferences are, you need to get very good at them in order to deliver high quality content that will set you apart from other creators.
In order to deliver high quality content, you have to take particular care of your streaming quality.
A stable internet connection, a good webcam and clear audio are essential to give a pleasurable experience to your audience. Lag, poor video quality, or audio disruptions will make your audience pick another model quickly, so if you are experiencing technical issues fix them as soon as possible.
Another important aspect to attract viewers is to have a schedule of your live streams and promote it regularly during your live, on your cam site, on social media platforms and with direct messages to your followers.
In other words, you not only have to let your viewers know when and where they can find you, you also have to build a sense of expectation in order to make them choose your room as soon as they log in.
The number of viewers during your live stream will determine your position on the cam site. The higher the number the closer you can get to the first page.
This is very important because the higher the visibility, the more chances you have to get new viewers and then it’s a circle.
Some cam sites give a booster to new cammers, don’t waste it, work as much as possible during that period and at the top of your ability. In this way you will have more chances of interacting with a higher number of viewers which could become your regulars.
Given the high amount of cam models this job is extremely competitive, so in order to increase your fan base you need to stand out. Everyone has a different strategy to achieve that, some prefer to be explicit right away, while others have a more pay-per-view approach; some prefer creating original live shows, while others like to bet everything on personality and interaction with their fans. It’s up to you.
One last piece of advice, after the booster period you might notice a decrease in viewers, it’s normal, don’t get discouraged, from now on you can have a much more realistic view on the numbers you are getting at every live show so you can start pushing and pushing until you reach the top.
