Yay! It’s that time of year again when you get to remake your cam room into a delirious, fun, scary, spooky den of horror for Halloween.
In the “spirit” of this awesome holiday, I’ve put together a list of some great decorations that’ll give your performance space a little oomph during this “horrific” time. And don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten lighting!
Lighting is the key to setting the horror vibe, so you’ll also find some cool items below that will help elevate the look and feel of your show.
Decorations:
- I SEE YOU! – These eyeball orbs are great because they’re creepy, but they also have a bit of a steampunk feel. That means you can probably get away with keeping them up all year if you’re so inclined because they’re not straight up in-your-face Halloween.
- Spiderweb Curtains – Take down those bland drapes you have year-round and make your cam room into a haunted mansion with these babies.
- Skull Pillows – Your bed isn’t complete without a few strategically placed cushions… the question is how many?
- Overlook Hotel Retro Carpet – If you want to make it subtle, roll around on this carpet fresh out of The Shining that only folks into the horror genre will recognize.
- Bloody Shower Curtain – This makes it easy to re-enact the shower scene from Psycho for your fans.
- Orange and Black Landscape Blanket – Easily set the mood with this eerie throw.
Lighting:
- Frankenstein Light Switch – Time to get the show going! This is a clever way to make a statement as you flip on or off your lights.
- Spiderweb Net Lights – This has 70 LEDs and comes with a remote control so you can easily change the mode and choreograph your show to the rhythm of the bulbs if so inclined.
- LED Fake Fire Flame Light – Though these are a little pricy just think of all the cool things you could do with them – from writhing in hell because you’ve been a bad boy or girl to rising from the ashes after you’ve been burned at the stake.
- Hand Wall Candles – One, two, or a full wall of these strategically placed really sets the tone.
- Skull Candle Holder – If candles are your jam, pick up this bronze skull, set it next to your night table and let the fun begin.
- Snake Candelabra – Make a dramatic appearance by gliding into the camera frame with it clutched tightly in your bloody hand.
Happy decorating!
