Travel to a beach resort in Mexico for a work trip — what could be wrong with that?
Absolutely nothing.
In celebration of Flirt4Free’s 20th anniversary and in an effort to honor models and studios for their exceptional achievements, the company recently hosted its annual Flirt Summit.
The network took over the Viceroy Zihuatanejo luxury resort in Ixtapa, Mexico. Leading up to the event, F4F hosted a site-wide contest for models during which models competed to win a four-night stay in one of the resort’s luxury suites (upgrade!) plus $500 for travel expenses. Twenty models received one of these prizes.
During the summit, attendees enjoyed poolside parties and organized activities, industry networking, educational seminars and — most significantly — a lot of opportunity for community building.
There were also in-depth, face-to-face consultations for models and studio attendees — a chance to get feedback about standout areas and tips for future success. Seminars and consultations also covered the value of building relationships, site information and software details, as well as strategies to be more successful on F4F overall.
Sounds intense, like you’d need more than a few umbrella drinks as a reminder you were at the beach. But maybe that’s the point?
In many ways, F4F is like any other large organization with a high percentage of remote workers — people who know a lot about each other and interact via technology quite often but rarely see each other IRL. As such, the annual summits, amalgamations of fun plus work/business learning opportunities, are uniquely appealing: productive time glossed with vacation.
As challenging as it can be to get work-motivated some days, on other days it certainly can be difficult to pull yourself away from your webcam and out of your room. Missing a whale, rubbing elbows with your co-workers and competition and just putting forth the effort required for international travel can seem exhausting — but sometimes the benefits can be great.
