Do you find yourself getting headaches, sneezing, coughing or battling other allergies in your cam space?
If so, you’re not the only one.
As reported on by NPR: “Estimates are that 30 to 40% of the world’s population now have some form of allergy, and medical anthropologist Theresa MacPhail says allergic reactions — including everything from hay fever to eczema and asthma — are growing in the U.S. and around the world.”
It can be difficult to find the root cause of your allergies, but if you’re not feeling well, it’s time to do a little detective work and make some changes to get you on the right track.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t talk first about one of the biggest culprits wreaking havoc on health: global warming.
As reported on by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America climate change contributes to air pollution and gives us longer warm seasons which means more pollen production. We don’t have much control over that other than supporting politics that reverse or slow down the problem but it’s important to know what we can and can’t change.
Let’s move on to three areas that you can change.
- Foods – You may have no idea you have an allergy so consider getting a muscle test (for those into eastern medicine) or visiting an Allergist (for those into western medicine) to discover if you’re suffering from food issues. This can be a game changer – simply giving up what your digestive system doesn’t like can put an end to many health problems that you could be suffering from.
- Makeup, Hair, Skin & Nail Care – It may be sad to give up your favorite eye shadow, hair or skin care, but there are so many terrific toxin-free products on the market now that you’ll be sure to find a great replacement. Check out this previous two-part article I wrote about clean makeup, skin, hair, and nail care which can point you in a new direction. We can also be allergic to natural things as well, so be sure to carefully monitor how you feel the first week/month of use and whenever possible buy products in sample size in case they don’t work for you.
- Cleaning Products – All that sanitizing of your cam room may be making you sick! Environmental Working Group, an organization which aims to help protect citizens from harmful products, investigated over 2000 cleaning items and discovered that many cause asthma, allergies and even cancer. In this report, they discuss their results and on this tab you can discover their recommended findings so you can make an educated choice on what to clean with.
With so many culprits that could be causing your allergies, it can be easy to throw up your hands and give into being sick in your cam space. But with a few changes, you could be feeling a lot better, so make time to investigate the issues above.
