There’s been a lot of buzz lately on different social media platforms regarding the 3-6-9 method to attain goals you’ve set for yourself.
If you’re not already familiar with this concept, it’s based on a theory from inventor, Nikola Tesla, which alleged that these three numbers hold the “key to the Universe.” Tesla believed so much in this theory that he incorporated this pattern in his life as much as possible. He would walk around buildings 3 times before entering them or stay in hotel rooms that had this sequence of numbers, and anything else he could incorporate with this grouping.
Today many people are using this method to attain goals they have been striving to accomplish. The method is very simple to use, and you don’t need any fancy supplies.
All that’s needed is a notebook, pen or pencil, time to write, and a goal or desire.
Let’s suppose that as a webcam model you want to increase your fan base. You would write out a goal that is no longer than one sentence. It might be something like, “I want a fan base of 1000 people within the next 3 months.” Next, in your notebook, you would write the sentence 3 times in the morning, 6 times in the afternoon, and 9 times in the evening (preferably before going to bed). The last decision you’ll need to make is how many days to follow this practice, 3, 6, or 9. In my experience, the “bigger” the goal, the longer this method should be applied.
There are some people who feel this method is somehow “magical,” and others who feel it’s not a “practical” way to accomplish a goal. Magical may not be an accurate label, but the method is very practical because it forces you to become laser-focused on what you want to accomplish.
The more focused you become on a goal the more your mind will bring people and circumstances to your awareness that will help you accomplish your desired outcome.
Our brain is bombarded with millions of bits of information throughout the day. One of the brain’s jobs is to filter out what we don’t need because we would be unable to function if everything got through to us daily.
Instead, our brain, through the Reticular Activating System (RAS), will search through all the bits of information presented to us in a day, and allow us to see more of that material than others. For example, “red Corvettes are sleek looking sports cars.” Over the course of the next day or two (or until you forget about this statement), you’ll be noticing more red Corvettes than you probably have in the past. All because your brain will now be filtering out other cars so you can “see” the red Corvettes.
This is basically how the 3-6-9 method helps people attain their goals. Focusing on what you want will spark ideas on how to make it happen. It doesn’t mean you just sit at home and “magically” 1000 new people will be added to your fan base. It means, you will “suddenly” figure out ways to help add those people to your fan base or see opportunities where before you saw none.
Try it out, and then send me an email to share your personal experiences with this method. I’d love to hear from you.
