There’s no denying it – online sex work is a very unusual and unique career that comes with its own challenges. One of them is sometimes feeling lonely and isolated due to the nature of the job.
Whether you’re still in the closet about your work or are open about it, finding people who understand what you’re dealing with can still be quite challenging. Luckily, we have several places online to connect with fellow sex workers and become a part of the community. Let’s take a look at our options!
One of the most common places to find fellow content creators is actually on Twitter.
While it is great for advertising, you can also use it to develop friendships with other online sex workers. Typically, it starts off by commenting on their tweets, then talking to them through direct messages and eventually being added to a group chat. Some group chats on Twitter are purely for boosting engagement, while others are for banter and support.
While it takes a while to find your tribe on Twitter, it can definitely be done.
WeCamGirls
If a forum combined with a social media site is more of your vibe, WeCamGirls is a great place to be.
Not only do they have a forum section where you can ask all the questions you want, they also have a lot of great resources and tools.
First, you can browse categories such as cam sites, content selling sites, social, and fan sites etc. to find the best platform for you. Most sites have been peer-reviewed, which is extra helpful.
Second, they have tools that allow you to keep notes on your regular customers, track your earnings, and share information on bad users on the wall of shame. You can also compare cam sites, check stage name availability, and, of course, direct message other members.
StripperWeb
Good old StripperWeb is a forum that has been around for quite a while. It initially started out as a forum for strippers, but it evolved, and a section called ‘camming connection’ was added.
On this site, you can find threads full of useful tips and peer reviews of various sites. And, if you’re feeling lonely, burnt out or stuck, you can definitely reach out to your fellow cam models by posting your own thread.
StripperWeb does also have a direct message option, although with the site design it looks more clunky than Twitter or WeCamGirls DMs.
AmberCutie forums
Amber Cutie forums, also known as ACF, were created by Amber Cutie aka Amber Lynne in 2010. On them, you can also post threads and engage with other creators on their threads. However, to use all the forum features, such as direct messaging and posting threads and responses without approval, you need to go through a short initiation period.
