Best Space Heaters for Your Cam Room

Getting naked or partially naked while camming in your room during the winter is not for the faint of heart – it’s flippin’ COLD!

Unless you’re one of those lucky people who has central heating that warms up every nook and cranny of your pad, you’re dealing with a heating unit that’s sporadic at best for keeping you cozy (and for some reason it never seems to hit the cam room).

You can flip on a fan to reach more areas which sometimes works, but the noise is annoying, and obviously you can’t be running it while you’re camming, so that’s out. But don’t they cost just as much to run?

The good news is nowadays space heaters are super-efficient and inexpensive to run if you follow some of these tips from Indiana Connection: turn down your main heat while it’s on, only use it in one room and not a huge space like a garage, close your door to avoid losing heat, buy the right size for your space, and get a heater with a thermostat so you can run it at the lowest setting that makes you comfy.

Also, you’ll need to follow some safety precautions.

According to HouseGrail, 21,800 home fires a year are caused by space heaters, so you want to be safe while using yours. As reported on by Consumer Reports, that means to keep it at least three feet away from furniture, bedding, clothes or anything else that can catch on fire. Make sure it’s on a hard, even, nonflammable (duh) surface so it can’t topple over, don’t leave it on unattended, turn it off when you’re ready to sleep, and don’t plug it into an extension cord with other electrical devices.

Follow those rules and a space heater is a lifesaver!
