SugarBounce Keeps It Sweet For Models

The cam industry is a great way to make a living but obstacles like censorship, exploitation by middlemen, industry monopolization by only a few key players, capital theft from artists and lack of anonymity can whittle away at earnings. This week YNOT Cam had the opportunity to sit down with the Navin Ray, the CEO of SugarBounce, a platform which seeks to put an end to these problems. The site uses crypto and blockchain technology so artists can concentrate on what they do best – create content and get paid without hassle.

When asked what the impetus of SugarBounce was, Ray told us the idea formed after learning about bitcoin and blockchain technology back in 2017. Even then, he felt it would revolutionize the adult industry. But it wasn’t until 2020, after reading the shocking findings of the NSWP survey that he took initiative. The report covered 55 countries and discussed the brutal impact Covid 19 had on adult entertainers. All over the world sex workers had lost their jobs, leaving many homeless and in debt. He decided a new type of content distribution platform was desperately needed to help empower young businesses and artists to grow. The brainchild became SugarBounce.

Ray stated: “SugarBounce seeks to embrace decentralization and warrant an equitable distribution of resources and revolutionize how NSFW content is consumed around the world, enabling a new economy integrated with our native currency $TIP.”

With this manifesto, SugarBounce hopes to end the reliance on banking and traditional financial institutions. Admittedly, it can be a bit of a hurdle to get people to adopt the new technology, but Ray said once models understand how it works, they find it a very easy process. All that needs to be done is to create a wallet on an exchange and link it to your bank account. Then once you’re paid in crypto, you can either transfer the money to your account or get a credit card from the exchange and use it. He explained, “It’s exactly like all the other modes of payment out there and once everyone sees that, there will be mass adoption very quickly.”

What are the benefits to using SugarBounce?

The company has some unique features. These include the ability for users to enjoy exclusive content at half the price they pay on a regular site by using the crypto $TIP token, a watch/earn rewards feature, storage security and data encryption to keep credit cards and identities secure, payment channels so users can make one single blockchain transaction for multiple services, an NFT marketplace and a crowdfunding platform called Sugar Starter which is in the works. In addition, their advertising network – SugarAds – is currently being built out. Revenue share will be maximized with those creators whose audiences SugarBounce targets. Said Ray: “We believe this will motivate many performers and studios to make the SugarBounce ecosystem the primary distribution channel for their free content.”

Currently in Beta, SugarBounce is still refining the site and Ray had a few final suggestions on how to make sure that your content is competitive. Firstly, he suggested that models make themselves available to all the opportunities and resources on the platform to help broaden their fanbase – customized chat rooms, daily stories, private shows, personalized tip menus etc. He also suggested taking part in the SugarBounce mentorship programs which educate budding models with financial/technical know-how. Lastly, he wanted to let models know that SugarBounce has a core team of experienced and established adult artists (like Genny Rock – Cam Coach and Recruiter, Diana Devil – Head of Outreach) who are available 24/7 to offer emotional support and/or financial guidance.
