Sophia West radiates “east” – if by east one means Florida.
A fun fact she shared: “I worked for the government as a professional Scuba diver and lived in the Florida Keys after college.”
That’s amazing!
Originally from Florida (see!), West has been in the mainstream adult industry for about three years now, but she began working online five years ago.
“I am in my 40s so I fall under the ‘MILF’ category and wish I had started in my 20s!” she shared. “I think of all the fun I missed.”
We recently had the opportunity to learn more about this sunny lady, who transcends geography and epitomizes awesome!

What prompted you to begin your career online?
I have had a few careers. As I mentioned above, I was a professional Scuba diver. I was also a preschool teacher and worked in marketing. I have worked as a professional model for years and decided that I would take my love for modeling and my fantasies of doing adult work and make it a reality.
I started doing online videos about five or six years ago. After a while, I decided that I wanted to go mainstream and made my first video for MissaX. I really enjoyed it and decided to do more. I have zero regrets!
What are some of the best things about working online? What about challenges?
I love being on camera. I find it a huge turn-on knowing people can see me in all my glory, but I also like the whole idea of it. I feel empowered by being able to control my own career, and I have been lucky to work with absolutely wonderful people.
I love my agent, who is very respectful of my needs and wishes, and I have never been pushed into anything I didn’t want to do 100%. My only issue is being on the East Coast, I don’t get as many opportunities as I would like.
Regarding my OnlyFans and so on, that’s more challenging. I really like it, but it’s a lot of work and — as most performers know — can be stressful at times. Finding others to shoot with is always an issue and usually when you do, there is a 40% chance they will actually show up!
All in all, I love making my own content and it’s been a great overall experience. The people I have met shooting have been really wonderful and many I consider friends even if we only see each other sporadically.
I do sometimes wish people took a more business approach to the industry. For example, making commitments and sticking with them. I think we all need to support each other more.
I also wish there was a way for new people in the industry to get resources and help to make good decisions… almost like a mentor program. I think it would protect new performers and also create a really great environment for us all. I think we should all be closer as an industry and help each other out more.
Coming from the modeling world, I know it is easy to get sucked into negativity, but if we all can see we are stronger as a unit it would benefit us all. Sometimes it feels very isolated, which is not good for anyone’s mental state as this is an industry where we really do need to lean on each other.
Outside of work, what are you most passionate about?
I love my dogs (I have two), and I am obsessed with traveling. Before the pandemic, I spent most of my summer in Europe. I am hoping that I can go back to this as it really hurts not being able to explore my passion.
I also love fine dining, and I am an avid wine collector with over 300 bottles in my cellar. Please note, I said “collector” and not “expert.” I love traveling and finding new producers. Wine is something I really enjoy, and I have many happy memories while enjoying the grape.

If you could change one thing about today’s world, what would it be and why?
Wow, this is tough… Maybe everything?!
I think we all just need to get along and stop trying to hurt each other. I think social media has run rampant with negativity, and we are not the better for it. People don’t seem interested in seeing anyone else’s point of view anymore. Either it is yours or it is wrong. I think this is a sad way to live, and I don’t participate in it.
I think we have a lot more in common with each other than we have differences and if we listen to others point of views, we might be able to find common ground. I do believe most of us are inherently good people, but being a good person means you need to see the differences in others and embrace them.
