It is no secret to anyone who works in the adult industry or has considered it that, by putting ourselves out there, we risk losing our privacy.
While most adult sites have a geo-blocking feature that prevents your content from being seen in certain countries or states, content thieves can easily take that effort away by posting your content elsewhere and exposing it to people you didn’t want to see it. The chances of this can be minimized by using content takedown services to remove or at least hide the content from search engines — but what if that is not enough for your peace of mind?
Over the years more and more content creators have chosen to take the anonymous route and conceal their faces or even tattoos and other identifiable features. We spoke to Xiomara Fox, Supersized Love Goddess and Skye B, who shared their experiences as anonymous adult content creators.
Why go the anonymous route?
Each of the creators we spoke to have their own reasons for making money in the adult industry anonymously.
“When I started three years ago, it wasn’t so popular to be a content creator. I was doing it [for] an extra income not as my main job like now, so I didn’t know if it was going to succeed or enjoy it, and I didn’t want to risk putting my face out there. Now I keep it anonymous because I like the power of being able to disappear whenever I want and nobody has to know and also, I wouldn’t like people recognizing me on the streets,” said Fox.
“My reasons are twofold. I’m a professional in the vanilla world. The last thing I need is for someone to not take me seriously in my job because I do this, so I hide my face. I guess also there is the possibility of a lost job potentially,” shared Supersized Love Goddess. “Secondly, I unintentionally collect stalkers. The last thing I need is to be constantly hounded by someone at work who’s totally infatuated with me. When I’m at work I want to work, do my job, meet my deadlines. I get really agitated when distracted from those tasks.”
“My family is extremely conservative and I have been raised under the guidance of extremely strict parents. Throughout my adolescent years I was very explorative with my sexuality and discovered my exhibitionist side. After a lot of egging (paired with a lot of teasing) from close friends, I started an OnlyFans account. I had read about how much girls were making, and as a college student, I thought I could play towards my exhibitionist side whilst making some extra money for myself,” said Skye B.
Skye added that, “I’ve always intended on staying anonymous as I do not feel comfortable with my family and some friends finding out about this as they would most definitely condemn me for it. I also do have career dreams after graduating college and I don’t want my identity out there casually as I feel that it would potentially hinder my prospective employability.”

Which sites accept anonymous content creators?
While there are very few cam sites out there that are fine with anonymity, most clip sites and fansites are happy to let you post anonymous content. All creators use popular adult content sites like ManyVids and OnlyFans.
Fox also uses iWantClips, Scatbook and Fansly. “Others I can’t use because I live abroad,” she explained.
Love Goddess also uses Loyalfans, Fansly and PocketStars.
“I was primarily on OnlyFans, Loyalfans and ManyVids until the recent OnlyFans debacle when they were going to ban sexually explicit content. When OnlyFans first made their announcement, I opened an account with Fansly (which so far, I like better) and PocketStars,” she said.
Skye B recently branched out and started using Fansly as well.
“I started off on OnlyFans and have concentrated my focus on that site along with selling some videos on ManyVids. I market myself such that if my fans want to chat or get a more personable side of me, they will get that exclusively on my Onlyfans. Recently, I have branched into Fansly, another fan-based subscription site that will continue to allow me to share more explicit content on another platform and potentially reach other subscribers on there!” Skye shared.

What are some of the challenges that anonymous content creators face?
“[I have] to be more creative since face is an important part of content for many people. I’m mostly a fetish [content creator] and a pro Domme. That helps a lot to make faceless content or [content] with masks,” explained Fox.
“I feel like you don’t make as much [money]. People really want to see your face. Specifically, your O-face. They want to see all those expressions of pleasure, not just in your body but in your face. But for me the loss of potential subscribers because of the mask is a cost I can live with to stay anonymous,” said Love Goddess.
One of the main challenges Skye has encountered is not being able to explain certain things to her friends and family.
“I run my account by myself, though I have at many times considered getting an assistant, and thus I can never answer why I’m always busy, why I’m always on my phone, why do I always seem to be messaging, why do I have to dart away randomly in the middle of hanging out, and why I have to be home at a very set timing (for scheduled cam shows),” Skye said.
She also shares that marketing herself as an anonymous content creator has been quite challenging.
“I think, showing your face makes you way more personable as you sell your content, just to add to your personality. Without it, your content is less relatable and many have mentioned that they don’t want to know someone who’s ‘just a body; as it seems so cold and detached. There are so many other creators out there who do show their face and hence continuously finding ways to market myself and let my personality shine through has definitely been a big struggle,” Skye explained.
What are the pros and cons of staying anonymous in this line of work?
“The pros of making anonymous content are many: nobody knows who you are, it’s less important if your content gets leaked, safety control, less time to prepare since you don’t have to wear makeup and you get to be more imaginative,” shared Fox. “Cons — some clients don’t like faceless content, especially if you do mainstream.”
Love Goddess also pointed out that making anonymous content might bring less subscribers.
“It can be really frustrating when you feel like aren’t reaching people and also losing out on that money. Also, it took forever to figure out how to wear a wig and to find masks that were comfortable to wear long term. You’d be surprised how uncomfortable they can be,” Goddess said.
“Pros of making anonymous content would be the deniability should someone ever come across leaked content. The privacy, letting this be my secret side that I unleash on the internet. I don’t have to worry about judgment, about what people think of me – I can just truly express myself and explore my sexuality and new kinks that are brought to the table. which is what I have been enjoying about creating content online for an audience! So far, it’s been fun, makes my content a lot more enjoyable to make,” explained Skye B.
Final Conclusions
While creating anonymous content has its own unique challenges, it might be a better option for some people. Although no one is protected from content piracy, people who can’t be out and proud sex workers for one reason or another, might feel better making anonymous content. In a way, it gives the creator a bigger sense of control while still letting them explore their creativity and sexuality in porn.
If you have decided to become an anonymous content creator, just know that success is possible and you’ve got this!
