We recently received the following announcement from Adult Time, and it’s actually pretty darn interesting.
For those who don’t know, Adult Time is the “Netflix of Porn” (or, so they say they’ve been dubbed). Launched in 2018, it’s a streaming service exclusively for adults created by director Bree Mills — and it does seem similar to Netflix in structural concept. The platform offers over 180 channels, 60,000 episodes and 5+ new releases per day from some pretty recognizable studios, including Girlsway, Pure Taboo, Burning Angel, Fantasy Massage, 21 Sextury and Vivid Entertainment. It also offers exclusive original series, feature films and — now — Model Time.
As I recently mentioned, in the wake of COVID-19, some people are now shooting “quarantine content” — or, porn shot for a studio or producer from a performer’s home while maintaining quarantine protocols.
Again, imagine if a studio was paying for what amounts to a custom — because it doesn’t seem like one can just shoot whatever they want when creating “quarantine content.” Maybe the studio approaches the model with a request. Or, maybe the model presents an idea as a pitch-to-purchase. Regardless though, some back and forth and content parameter delineation does happen, hence yielding content that’s kinda like a custom.
With all that in mind, Adult Time has launched Model Time, a channel on its platform that seems to be an outlet for “quarantine content” exclusively. Now, Adult Time is definitely not the only studio/producer/porn funder that’s paying models and performers to create “quarantine content,” but it does seem to be the only outlet that’s doing so in such a splashy manner.
Here is the announcement we received from them recently:
Montreal, QC – Adult Time is pleased to introduce Model Time, a unique new studio channel showcasing original short films from independent adult filmmakers around the world. The studio, which will air three new episodes per week, launched on May 20, 2020 at Modeltime.com. It is also available on the AdultTime.com platform.
The streaming site’s Chief Creative Officer Bree Mills explained that, “Model Time is a studio dedicated to bringing independent content straight from the minds of some of the most talented stars in the business.”
Each month, Adult Time’s award-winning team will order original projects from porn stars, clip artists and independent filmmakers, “as a way for our fans to sample the work of these creators, while also being able to showcase their personal brands to our growing audience of paying porn subscribers!”
The first five scenes set for release on Model Time are as follows:
5/22 – “The Lesbian Potion,” created by Jenna Foxx, co-starring Avery Black and Alex Grey
5/23 – “Quarantine Games,” created by My Sweet Apple, co-starring Kim and Paolo
5/27 – “Retro Housewife Lifestyle Show,” a nostalgic solo event from creator Karla Lane
5/29 – “Skater Boi,” a non-binary love story from Lola Fae co-starring Lucky Fae
6/05 – “Dormmates,” a sexy girl/girl affair from Jake Adams, starring Gia Derza and Scarlit Scandal
These initial releases will be followed by a steady mix of new episodes, all written and directed by creators hired by Model Time, covering a broad spectrum of different pairings and kinks. It looks like the channel is looking to acquire an array of different content, featuring diverse performers and forms and story lines, which is great. This could be an interesting way to generate new revenue and, unlike a lot of other “quarantine content” producers I’ve heard about, this one seems to have at least a clear way to apply and submit your ideas. Like, there’s a link to go to even.
