Time management techniques may sound boring, but they give structure to your show and make it run smoother, easier to moderate and less confusing for the viewers watching.
In this context, time management basically means doing one type of show at a time and not advertising public, private, Skype and/or group shows all at once in the hopes of making more money that way. When you’re running back and forth from public to private all the time, you end up losing your viewers and having to work twice as hard after a private to build them up again.
Not an effective use of your time or energy! Here are three key tips to consolidate your efforts into more money in less time.
1. Structure your life (and your shows)
Find a schedule that works for you and stick to it!
Not only will this help your viewers know when to find you online, you’ll get into a rhythm so you can structure your life around your camming schedule. This means booking days off for some you time.
Performing is a big drain on your energy, both physically and mentally, so if you don’t recharge yourself by hanging out with friends, doing your favorite hobbies or resting, you’re not going to be very fun to watch and you’ll burn out very quickly.
2. Don’t go back and forth from public to private
Do one type of show at a time! When you’re in public, stay in public and tell your viewers you’re staying in your public show and taking PVTs afterwards.
Leaving in the middle of your public show to go PVT might seem like a good idea at the time, but what ends up happening is you lose a bunch of your viewers, you have to work twice as hard to get them back once your PVT is done, you’re a little more tired after doing a PVT show and you’ve trained your viewers not to tip (or wait longer to tip) because they think you’re just going to leave as soon as a PVT comes a long.
3. Enjoy PVT time
When you’re done your public show and taking PVTs, let your viewers know by changing something in the background. Add a red light, change your camera angle to something new, change your outfit.
Doing your PVTs at the end allows you to relax and enjoy them more. You won’t be as tired, flustered or preoccupied thinking about going back to public. This will leave your PVT customers extremely satisfied and telling everyone they should go PVT with you — after your public show, of course!
Pro Tip: Changing something about your room so it looks different than when you’re doing your public show will make them seem more special. If it all looks the same then viewers might think twice before taking you PVT again, regardless of how amazing, sexy and gorgeous you are.
I cannot stress enough how important self preservation is in this business! So, next time you’re feeling drained, take a day off for some much deserved me time.
