The industry received the following alert from the Free Speech Coalition (FSC) on October 28:
INDUSTRY ALERT: Forged Test at EXXXOTICA New Jersey
FSC has been alerted that a performer using the stage name Macana Man attempted to work with forged test, photoshopping an old QR code onto what appeared to be an up-to-date test. In fact, the performer had not tested in PASS in over a year. The fraud was discovered when a producer attempted to verify the test in the PASS database.
While the performer was blocked from that particular shoot, we believe he may have performed elsewhere during the Exxxotica Expo this weekend in New Jersey. We are currently investigating the incident to determine what, if any, exposure there might have been to the PASS performer pool. If you’ve worked with this performer in the past month, please contact us.
FSC-PASS has secured the performer’s legal name, alerted all PASS-affiliated clinics, and permanently banned them from participating in the PASS system. Any person who forges a test or otherwise misrepresents themselves to a testing facility, is banned from participating in PASS, and thus any PASS-compliant shoots.
We remind everyone not to post images of their tests on social media, and not to rely on easily forgeable printouts or PDFs of a test to verify availability. The only way to verify a performer’s clear availability status is to log directly onto the PASS database. The PASS database is free to use, easy to access, and available to any performer, producer, or agent.
In the meantime, please remember:
– All performers cleared for work are verifiable in the PASS database — accept no excuses.
– Immediately contact the Free Speech Coalition if you believe anyone is attempting to shoot with a forged or manipulated test.
If anyone has information on the incident or potential incidents, or if performer or producer would like additional information or instruction regarding how to access the database in order to verify someone’s status, please contact PASS@freespeechcoalition.com.
It seems that this the community was first alerted to Macana Man’s forgery by Juliette March, who posted a tweet to these ends on October 26.
Right off, let’s give a huge community shout out to March for being a great example of “see something, say something” and speaking up/speaking out. Thank you!
March also wrote some encouraging words about asserting oneself, as well as stating that the producer of the shoot in question had her back: “Don’t be afraid to assert yourself! It’s super awkward telling someone you are about to have sex w/ you need their legal name to check PASS. Macanaman was someone I knew, liked & had loved shooting with. Luckily yesterday the producer took the lead but this isn’t always the case.”
It’s important to remember that the forged test does not necessarily mean that Macana Man would not have cleared PASS’s STI panel. He very well may have, but he may not have been able to get the tests completed for other reasons — timing, cost, geography, etc. March also pointed this out.
FYI, it’s not certain that any performers have been exposed to anything! It could be as simple as he doesn’t want to pay for tests ??♀️ I just want to make sure the people who currently work with him are made aware and explain to all performers how to use PASS.

*However*
Regardless of why Macana Man did what he did what he did, fuck this clown. This attempt to defraud the community and possibly endanger the health of potential co-workers is inexcusable. It also calls attention to making sure one fully understands and utilizes the PASS system.
Here is some information about PASS:
FSC Performer Availability Screening Services (PASS) provides guidelines and services for the adult production industry designed to ensure a safe and healthy work environment of performers and adult film professionals. The program includes:
– A series of nationwide testing sites providing low cost, high-quality testing in a timely manner
– Performers have electronic access to testing results directly from labs
– Variety of medical providers for treatment of performers in need of medical follow-up
– Consistent standards and guidelines for testing and treatment of adult performers
– A secure database that ensures performer privacy and protects producer liability
– Protocol for performer support in the event of a positive HIV test result, including funding for testing of 1st and 2nd generation partners.
The PASS program was developed by industry stakeholders, compliance experts, doctors and attorneys, to uphold performer testing protocols and industry standards for self-regulation.
FSC also operates the Performer Subsidy Fund (PSF) to help subsidize up to three industry standard compliant tests (see PASS) per month.
Certainly, PASS — both in actual practice and as a system overall — is not without flaws. Nothing in life is perfect though. PASS strives to provide a simple way to see who is available for work without disclosing personal details and/or private health information — all within a very complex work community that has a lot of moving parts.
If you are not already using PASS or you just have questions, go here: fscpass.com. Also, here is the contact email again: PASS@freespeechcoalition.com. Further, and I cannot stress enough: If you have a question, ask it! The service is there for you, and your questions are important.
Take a note from March’s playbook and if something seems up to you, say something. We are nothing without community trust and communication.
And finally, agreed Lance. Fully agreed.
