Having indoor plants in your cam space is not only beautiful, but they can offer a ton of benefits that can make you a better performer.
Seriously? Yes seriously.
Studies have proven that a little green goes a long way.
Not only can having potted plants in your room make you feel like a jungle goddess or god, but as discussed in this article in Healthline the rewards are insane!
Indoor plants offer stress relief, heightened focus, they can ease mental illness issues such as depression, anxiety, and dementia, they “may help you recover from illness faster,” and “boost your productivity,” they “may improve the quality of indoor air,” and “they may make you love camming even more by “improving your outlook on work!”
Wow!
The only problem is… what if you always end up killing them?!
If you’re a person (like me) who has avoided purchasing plants because your green thumb is black death, there is hope.
Discover five plants below that are so simple to take care of even a kid could do it!
- Cactus – That’s a no brainer as they require such little water and maintenance. However, I’ve killed them many times before. The key is knowing exactly how much water they need and setting an alarm on your phone to never skip it. What often happens is we forget, then we overcompensate with too much liquid and a few days later they’re dead.
- Money Tree – Who doesn’t want the luck of a money tree!? Good news is they’re also easy to keep alive. As reported on by House Beautiful, all the Money Tree needs is bright, indirect light, and to “turn it occasionally so it grows evenly.” Water it once a week.
- Pothos – So pretty! According to Better Homes & Gardens, “it can go a long time without water, it grows in bright light or dim spaces, and doesn’t get fazed by low humidity.”
- Aloe Vera – The best thing about this plant is if you cut or burn yourself you can slice a bit of the leaf off and medicate yourself with its magical goo. To keep it from dying HGTV says to let the soil dry in-between waterings – “depending on the humidity of your home, that may mean watering as little as every two to three weeks.”
- Ficus Tree –According to Architectural Digest, these like “low light throughout the day” and only need watered about once a week. Bonus: The fact it’s a relatively big plant that you’ve managed to keep alive will make folks think you’re a Green Queen or King when in fact you barely know what you’re doing.
Go for it and create your verdant oasis!
