Having a strong online presence is fundamental for any cam model or content creator because it allows viewers to engage with their favorite stars in other ways than just watching them live. Additionally, being on several sites helps to expand one’s audience and reach a wider range of people with different habits.
There are several strategies you can use to increase your online presence and engagement; I think what works best is what best suits you as not everyone has the same preference or affinities with some sites or socials.
Firstly, it’s important to establish where your audience spends its time online and what content they may be interested in.
Twitter is usually a good choice because it tolerates NSFW photos and topics and it’s been around for a while. Established tube sites like XVideos, XHamster or Pornhub are widely known, therefore they can help you achieve online visibility. By responding to comments, sharing other people’s work and interacting with fans and fellow content creators you can increase your followers on those sites.
If you enjoy creating SFW content you can use socials like Instagram and TikTok, however, they have a strict SFW policy and a strong bias towards sex workers. This might cause you frustration because your postings could be removed, and you may get banned even when adhering to their policy.
In every business being consistent is very important, it shows professionalism and reliability, so when building an online presence, you should post regularly on your socials as well as on your tube sites. Even though most sites nowadays allow you to schedule posts, it’s advisable to set a frequency which you can sustain: keeping a constant rate of posting or increasing it over time looks better than decreasing it abruptly. What I do is schedule all my post for the week on Monday nights.
Most viewers use search engines to find more content of their favorite stars so, by using relevant keywords and tags in your titles and descriptions, you can make your content more discoverable and expand your audience. Of course, when you are live you should remind your viewers every now and then to follow you on your socials – and don’t forget to add your sites on your cam page as well.
Sites like SexWorker or Linktree are also very useful. You can list all your sites in just one page, so instead of adding several links you can just put one.
Another option would be having you own website. Nowadays making a website is relatively easy and inexpensive, the more you work on building it the more you can profit from it, however, even by having only one page with all your links can make you more discoverable on search engines than by not having it.
Finally, it’s important to note that sites and socials are always changing, so your strategy to keep a good online presence should be dynamic and you should evaluate it periodically. In order to track your progress and identify where you should spend more time, keep a close eye on followers’ engagement, follower growth, where they’re from when you go live, and which ones which make purchases on your main sites.
In conclusion, in order to increase and maintain your online presence you should adopt a holistic approach that includes not only socials, but also tube sites. This will help you attract more followers and grow your cam room audience. While social media might seem the only obvious choice, remember that the more sites you are on, the more you will appear in search engines, and this will make you more discoverable to potential viewers.
