Sometimes we’re so single minded in our work we don’t realize how hard we’re pushing our bodies.
It’s only after we’ve wrapped up our day of performing that we realize every muscle is screaming and we’ve overdone it. Most of us ignore or complain about our pain. We throw up our hands in surrender telling ourselves that camming is a physical job and that there’s no way we’re going to escape the aches that come with it, so just deal.
But there’s a better way to face our tired muscles than sucking it up, and that way is to listen to our body and give it the loving care it’s demanding.
Unfortunately, we often ignore the nagging voice inside our head telling us to slow down or that something hurts because we have our eyes on the prize – money.
What we must remember is that cash multiplies when we’re happy and feeling great. If our bodies are hurting and our minds are miserable, our pocketbooks will surely reflect our state of unhappiness.
Therefore, we must pay attention to the warning signals our body is sending us and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Once we face the problems, we can then incorporate some simple remedies into our lifestyle to remedy the situation:
- Purchase a bag of Epsom salts and add them to your bath. They’re inexpensive and a great way to relax your muscles as well as calm your mind.
- Snowy Summit Devil’s Club Salve. Made by a small company out of Oregon, this stuff lasts forever and works great for aching muscles. As an added bonus the salve will also help heal a burn or bite in no time.
- CBD Products. Check out this interview YNOT CAM did with RBD CBD and learn about their products. Approved and used by Hall of Fame Wrestler Rob Van Dam you can trust they’re not only safe but effective.
- Invest in a Massage Gun. A simple search on Amazon will give you dozens of choices. Though the initial cost may be pricey, you’ll use it so much it’ll be well worth the cash.
- Stretching and rotation exercises. We tend to go really hard at working out without taking the time to stretch it out. Find routines that will be kind to your overworked hip flexors, shoulders, quads and other parts of your body.
- Incorporate anti-inflammatory food and drink into your routine such as Turmeric Tea, Cherry Juice, and Apple Cider. I personally have found a lot of success with Turmeric.
- Never underestimate the healing power of getting enough sleep.
Check in every day with your body, take time to be kind to it, and guaranteed your shows and mental health will thank you!
