Eva Darling Always Finds the Light

Camming can be a wonderful job, but it can also, like any other profession out there, have its dark moments. It’s how you choose to view your perceived or very real misfortune that can make or shape your world.

This week I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing Eva Darling, a woman who has a beautiful mantra to “always find the light.” Simple yet powerful, it’s a reminder to keep in touch with what’s right in the world and not what’s wrong. It’s apparent from talking with Eva that she faces problems head on, embraces her joys and never lets bad times hold her back.

How did you get your start?

I started camming 5 years ago after a guy I was seeing asked if we could do it on cam. I thought it was super cool and so I said yes. And as I got to talking with the viewers, I realized people could tip me. I started my account on Chaturbate the next day and the rest is history.

What do you love most about performing?

Honestly, it’s not a performance for me, I love talking and love being naked and come on, who doesn’t enjoy a good orgasm?! I get to hang out with people from all over the world and get to feel sexy doing it. Hell yeah!!

How do you deal with negative perceptions of the industry?

I try to ignore people with negative perceptions because they usually have zero knowledge of how anything works. If I do acknowledge them, I tell them that it’s my job, it puts food on my table, a roof over my head and keeps the lights on. And they aren’t the ones doing it so it shouldn’t bother them.

What is the most difficult thing about your job?

The inconsistency with income. Some weeks are amazing and others not so much. You can have a major gap in pay based on so many factors. The economy, holidays, weather, etc.

Tell us about the most amazing experience you ever had with a client.

My favorite most amazing experience with a fan would be my friend Mrsir, he is a total badass and has hand made me multiple paddles, in all different sizes each engraved with my logos and such. He even made some for a few of my other cam friends. And the best part is he made me mini paddles that are Christmas ornaments. So freaking cool to think someone would take that much time and put in so much effort to make me something unique.

What is the mantra that you live by, do you have one?

My mantra is to always find the light. Kinda like having a silver linings mentality. Life is hard, sometimes things aren’t that great but there will always be a better brighter day if you just remember to find the light.

What has been hardest lesson for you to learn whether in life or the business?

Hardest life lesson I’ve learned is that I’m not perfect, I never will be and that’s OKAY! Doesn’t mean you don’t try however I don’t hold myself to delusional expectations. I’m a realist.

What one piece of advice would you give to someone starting out?

Best advice is to never compare yourself to another model.

Everyone grows at a different rate, has a different angle and makes what they make. Once you start comparing your success based on those around you it just drags you down.

How do you motivate yourself when you don’t feel like working?

My motivation comes from wanting my bills paid haha, but in all seriousness I just get online and the viewers do the rest – once you start talking you get into a groove and then it just flows.

What are your goals for your business?

That’s a great question – I’ve been asking myself the same thing. Should I work on more content, make a sexy calendar, do more conventions? The possibilities are endless so hopefully I’ll take the dive soon.
