Running a successful cam business requires a strong work ethic and a lot of hustling– and you’ve got to also think outside the box by offering fans unique experiences that they’ll pony up big cash for. One cam model did just that and hit the jackpot after scoring an invitation to play Elden Ring with a gamer for 40 uninterrupted hours to the tune of $20K.
Charley Hart connected with Chris, a 29-year-old gamer from New Jersey, via CamSoda. They enjoyed each other’s company and, when Chris felt he was ready to take on Elden Ring campaign mode, he was sure he wanted Hart at his side. The action role-playing game, based on a story by George R. R. Martin, is extremely popular and — depending on who you ask — incredibly hard. Hard enough that it takes many hours to finish. Finding a friend who can spend all that time playing it with you can be difficult. When Chris decided it would be easier to just pay someone to join him, he thought, why not have it be his favorite cam model?
Fun + Cash = No Brainer!
Hart thought it was a great idea. Of course it was, she was raking in $20K. No brainer!
As an extra perk, Hart also enjoyed a ton of press from the experience. Not only was it the longest consecutive cam show on CamSoda, but Chris went on record to say that the hefty price tag was worth it.
Christ told shanethegamer.com that, “I usually play campaigns by myself in my boxer briefs and overload on carbs (pizza, fast food, etc.) while chugging energy drinks. It was nice to have Charley alongside me as I traversed ‘The Lands Between.’ We got to know each other quite intimately and connected on a deeper level. I really appreciated her companionship. I look forward to hopefully streaming with her again when the next big game is released.”
On Hart’s end, she told the same publication that it wasn’t just fun — it was an accomplishment.
She was quoted saying, “We celebrated once we completed the campaign like we won a championship lol.” When asked if she would do it again, she told shanethegamer that 40 hours is a long, long, longggg time, and she probably wouldn’t but was down for shorter gaming sessions.
It’s hard to believe that she’d say “no” to the goose that laid the golden egg were another one to present itself, but then again, she’s probably inundated with offers after all the press and has some bargaining power. A silver-lining if you’re able to come up with an outrageous idea that you’re able to pull off like she did.
To be clear, this wasn’t the first time Hart had been approached for long-form camming requests. The invitation to game was not out of the ordinary — she’d had them before — but 40 hours of playing Elden Ring to the bitter end was.
Getting someone to pay that much for so little is a little like winning the lottery. Regardless, it’s inspiring and can give you fodder for coming up with unique concepts to round out your business.
