By these point, we are all certainly aware of the crisis occurring between the Ukraine and Russia. In addition to being awful, the impact on workers is certainly unprecedented — and the impact on members of the adult entertainment community living and working from all relevant countries simply underscores the issues.
Sex work, which includes working behind the scenes in the sex industry, is stigmatized in the most “progressive” of nation states and cultures. It is highly stigmatized in other spaces.
Coupling stigma with fragile economies and global outsourcing makes circumstances extra tenuous for our occupational peers. This includes models and content creators, but it also includes codes, support staff, designers, and every other kinda job and service that it takes to make adult content an accessible product today.
Stripchat recently sent along notification (below) of a donation they’d made for Ukrainian models, which is amazing. There is a large sector of our community that’s being directly impacted by this ongoing issue — people with various occupations from multiple countries. We must do our part to support and be mindful of everyone.

On Friday March 11, Stripchat donated over $555,000 directly to over 3,000 Ukrainian models using the site. The live streaming platform arranged an extra payout on top of models’ earnings. This additional payout equaled the earnings models made the week of Feb 17-23, right before the war.
“We wholeheartedly empathize with Ukrainians struggling and going through challenging times that should not take place in a civilized world. We sincerely wanted to support them with deeds, not only words,” said Stripchat’s Max Bennet. “For all Ukrainian models, both who can and can’t stream anymore, we’ve arranged an extra payout, and we will continue supporting them. I encourage other adult brands to take action and provide a helping hand to Ukrainians in this time of need.”
“Stay strong and united, dear Ukrainians,” Stripchat added.
