Heyyy, hi, hello! I’m Lana…
Lana del Bae, a smol unicorn of age “I’ll never tell,” has been working in the adult industry for five years now – “Holy moly time certainly flies when you’re having fun!” she enthused.
del Bae was born and raised in Portland, OR, where she plans to stay for a while now since she recently bought her first house there!
“A fun fact about me is everyone thinks my favorite color is purple but it’s actually amber,” she shared. “Also, I cry at every single rom-com I watch because I’m a big baby!”
We recently had the opportunity to learn a bit more about this quirky bae – read on, and prepare to be charmed!

YNOT Cam: How did you get started as an online content creator?
Lana del Bae: I actually worked at a children’s toy and game store for years, which was fun but wasn’t very substantial to try to live off of.
I come from a pretty toxic and abusive home life, and I was just really looking for a way to support myself enough to move out and be free. My sister is actually also in the adult industry, and she suggested I try out camming — and thus began this amazing journey. I secretly cammed from the corner of my parents’ attic until I saved up enough to move out into my own apartment… and here I am five years later a home owner!
It’s really wild to think about honestly, but when I tell people camming saved my life I really and truly mean it. I am forever thankful for this industry and the amazing friends I’ve made in it. Several of my very best friends are fellow models. I feel blessed to not just know but to be besties with such incredibly powerful and amazing women. It’s inspiring!
What are some of the best things about working online?
I think the obvious is that you get to work from home — you can’t beat that commute!
Truly though, I love being my own boss. It obviously has its challenges because you have to push yourself to be consistent and go online on time and be responsible and some days that’s hard, but the reward of being able to call all the shots in your own life in unmatched.
I am just so thankful for the wonderful community the adult industry has opened up for me. Be it members or models, it’s incredibly humbling to be supported by other people in your hopes and dreams and goals. I’ve learned so much about humanity and so much about myself, and I’m so excited for what’s next!
You recently won the YNOT Cam Award for “Cam Star of the Year” in 2021. What was that experience like for you?
One of the most amazingly overwhelming — in the best way possible — experiences of my life! I went there not expecting to win at all and was floored when they called out my name. I couldn’t stop crying, I don’t even know how I managed a speech to be honest with you.
After the awards show, I was actually still so much in shock that I went back to my hotel room and just cried for like 30 minutes! I was so amazed that I was able to work hard enough to be noticed by big names in the industry and be given an award for my achievements. It was in the top of my highlight reel for 2021, and I’m so thankful to YNOT for recognizing and appreciating my hard work. I am honored and humbled truly!
And a word to anyone out there that thinks they can’t do it — YOU CAN! Believe in yourself and work hard! You got this baby!
You co-host a super popular podcast on behalf of a super big deal network – tell us about it?
Yes! “Sex Tales” just started its second season! I’m so excited for everyone to watch and listen to our latest interviews.
I absolutely love podcasting. It’s so much fun to do the research on our guests. My knowledge of the adult industry has broadened so much since I started! I used to just know about the cam side of things, but interviewing different people across the board in the industry has truly given me such appreciation for everyone that keeps it flowing and growing.
I also absolutely love working with Melody Kush. We are so different yet so much alike, and I feel like our styles compliment each other in the best ways. It’s also been interesting working as a team. Cam modeling is generally a solo activity and you run the show on your own, so learning how to successfully work with a co-host and whole team has been a wonderful and eye-opening experience that I’m still learning from every day!
Your name is the cleverest! Curious how you came up with it… Are you a Lana del Rey fan?
What? There’s a singer out there that stole my name?! First of all, thank you. Secondly, I wanted something people would actually respond to. Bless those models that can go by a cam name that’s so completely different than their actual name. I just can’t!
I love Lana Del Rey! I think her voice is enchanting and her lyrics are poetry, and I also being clean and sober appreciate her own long-term sobriety as well. I also love the wordplay and the fact that it has a built-in pet name — bae!
EYE love you! 👀👀
Thanks for putting up with my silly ass!
You guys fill my heart with so much love and joy! I can’t believe I am lucky enough to get to spend my nights with the best people on the planet!
I’m already looking forward to hump day together

There’s a lot of internet snark about Lana del Rey regarding her persona and “inauthenticity” – like an artist can’t have a character through which they present their work or something! As an online content creator with a crafted persona of your own, how does that line of “feedback” land with you?
I can’t say I pay too much attention to that… If she was, like, clubbing baby seals I would probably take a step back, but I mean a rumor that someone is inauthentic seems a bit far-fetched. How do you know if she’s being inauthentic or not really and truly unless you’re like her bestie or something… Idk I think she’s pretty open about creating a stage persona, but I don’t think that makes her inauthentic.
As for authenticity in the cam world, I think being yourself is super important. It would be exhausting — at least for me — to pretend to be someone I’m not the whole time I’m online! It’s rather a double-edged sword though because on the good days it feels amazing that a room of people love you for being you, but on the rough days it’s hard because you feel like “what’s wrong with me? Why does no one enjoy me today?”
…but I think that kinda leads into the next part, which is balance baby!
You can’t receive all your self-confidence from work. You have to have other hobbies and sources of positive feedback in daily life — dance classes, a workshop, a garden, a book club, going to the gym or volunteering somewhere. Something that gives you validation in being a person outside of the internet world. That way everything that happens online you don’t take quite as personally because it’s not the only feedback you’re getting in your life.

Outside of work, what are you most interested in?
Everything! I just want to know everything if I’m being honest. I will stay up until 5am some days watching documentaries about random subjects I didn’t even know I found interesting. There’s always something new to learn.
I am lucky that camming allows me to intertwine so many of my passions within it – like, charity work has always been super important to me and I’m able to do charity shows at work.
I think if I had to narrow it down to an easy three outside of the workspace though, I’d go with dancing/yoga, psychology and animals. Physical health, mental health and fur babies — can’t go wrong with those!
If you could change one thing about today’s world, what would it be and why?
I feel people’s unwillingness to listen to an opinion they disagree with is the one thing I would change. I feel like we’d learn and grow a lot more if we took more time to listen instead of always just waiting for our turn to talk.
The world is filled with so many types of people and that should be celebrated, not punished. It would be so boring if we were all the same after all!
