December is upon us again — and thus, for those that celebrate and/or choose, the opportunity to engage some Christmas-themed workplace stuff.
This is a the time of year to earn more money by incorporating the holiday into your shows. The month passes quickly though, so you will want to be prepared to stand out from your competition through the addition of cute seasonal outfits and holiday backgrounds. A few simple alterations can make a big change to your bottom line.
The Christmas holiday may be hectic, but it is also one of the few times each year people tend to have more free time. This equates to more people (potentially) visiting camming sites this month than normal. A goal may then be to capitalize on this increased possible viewership.
Decor, Costumes, Special Events!
Your shows can stand out from other performers by decorating your room or studio to set the tone. Decorations don’t have to be costly to look good on-air. Whenever you decorate for on-air viewing, think like a set director for a television show. You can find great looking holiday backdrops on sites like Amazon for under $20.00. These are great for hanging on the wall behind your bed. Another option is to add Christmas décor throughout out your room using inexpensive decorations from dollar stores. Low-cost decorations look very glitzy over the web, allowing you to stretch your holiday decorating budget.
Next, you’ll want to dress the part by incorporating colors in your outfits emphasizing red, white, and green. Your local dollar store will be a great place to look for holiday headbands (to lend to the naughty Elf persona) or light-necklaces, snowflake earrings and other cute accessories for the season.
Get creative! This season only comes around once per year. Many cam sites have public rooms where viewers give the performers tokens. A fun option would be to dress as a “Christmas present” holding a stack of “gifts,” and tease your audience by offering to let them “unwrap” you once you reach a certain token level. Explain to your audience that there is a special toy in each box. If they pay to join you in a private room, then you’ll let them pick their favorite box and direct you how to use that toy.
After all — you’re their present, and you want to give them a special holiday treat.
For those of you with a following on social media or an email list, let your fans know you’ll be doing special shows. Make sure your announcements state the days and times [Editor’s note: …and time zone! include the damn time zone] you’ll be performing, and then stick to that schedule. There is nothing more aggravating for a customer than to be ready to “play” just to find out their favorite performer is a no-show. Honoring your schedule is a great way to get customers and keep them coming back.
These are just a few ideas to stimulate your imagination. The holidays can be hectic, but if fans know they can rely on you to be there to help them have some fun and relax, then you can anticipate increased revenues at this time of year.
