WeCamgirls recently announced the launch of a new community for models and performers: WePornstars, which is currently in beta.
In 2012, WeCamgirls founders Rutger and Tristan launched their original cammodel community/forum. WeCamgirls is a community where cammodels can talk to their adult business colleagues. Models can simply read and learn or talk about business or non-business related topics on the forum, on the walls or in the chat. Models can also exchange tips and tricks or review all kinds of different cam related businesses. The community has since thrived — almost ten years later, 30,000 camgirls and camguys call WeCamgirls their home.
“With WeCamgirls, we created a safe place for cammodels to interact, discuss and connect, without customers peeking in,” Rutger said. “We never imagined that the site could be so successful, but it turned out that what we offer with WeCamgirls is just what models are looking for.”

Expanding to other parts of the adult industry has always been on their minds, thus the natural progression of WePornstars.
“We talked to current and former adult stars, did our research, visited lots of conferences and concluded that talent and pornstars could benefit from a community similar to WeCamgirls,” Rutger explained. “Information and interaction are our focus keywords. WePornstars will be a place where adult talent can interact safely and where they will have access to a wealth of information and resources.”
A big part of the WeCamgirls community is the exchange of experiences and information. With thousands or real reviews of cam sites, vid and clip sites and other cam-related businesses by verified cam models, aspiring models will have a proper idea where to sign up and what to expect.
“There are so many agencies and studios in the porn world that, for aspiring talent, it can be confusing on how and where to start,” Rutger said. “With WePornstars, we will have, with the help of more established talent, a similar review section, so all the paths that are available will be more clear.”
If it is successful, WePornstars could be a great place for members of the community looking to learn more about the porn performance sex work. Though in a similar industry and though having many overlaps, cam modeling and porn performance are different jobs.
Ultimately, knowing about the different elements that come along with each type of labor can help people make informed decisions about careers and lives.
