The internet is home to dozens of websites where NSFW creators can post their nude and uncensored content. Some of those sites are specifically made for that type of content and you don’t have to worry about it being removed, while others are completely anti-sex work. You would just be wasting your time posting to those sites.
Deciding which websites would be best to market your content can be difficult so let’s make that decision a little bit easier and discuss some sites that you should either be cautious of or avoid all together.
Platforms Which Are Anti-Nudity
Facebook, which was specifically created for college students, has over the years become the top social media platform after they started allowing anyone to join. These people include anyone from any age group and, because there are minors on the platform, Facebook has had to update their community standards to ensure the safety of anyone under the age of 18.
While there are still some websites that, although they are anti-nudity, do allow sexy content to be posted as long as that content does not cross that line of nudity and/ or sexual activity, Facebook is not one of those websites. They even have guidelines for sexual solicitation. The bottom line is that Facebook is anti-sex work, and that platform would not be one where you should market your content.
Another platform that is anti-sex work is Tumblr. At one point in time, Tumblr was a common website sex workers used to market their services. In fact, it was once one of the most common platforms used to market NSFW content.
So why did it go from being one of the most porn friendly platforms to banning pornographic content all together? The answer is that it was bought out by another company and with that new ownership came some big changes for the NSFW community. A filtering system was created so that any adult content was flagged as such, and any blogs featuring adult content were removed from the search and tag pages completely.
However, that wasn’t all, as they were sold to another company which created a “safe mode” for the website that filtered anything marked as “sensitive content.” That became the default mode and if you wanted to see that NSFW content then you needed to change your settings. Eventually the website went completely anti-nudity and anyone who had blogs featuring any content of the such were deleted.
Websites to be Cautious Of
While there are those sites that basically hate sex workers, there are some websites that although they are anti-nudity do allow you to solicit your services with some restrictions put into place. One of those platforms is Instagram, owned by Facebook, which does not allow you to post any sort of nudity. There are, however, many users who are able to get around that and still use their page to market their NSFW content. A lot of sex workers even have a premium Instagram story that they sell as one of their services which would contain content deemed as NSFW.
So how would one successfully use Instagram to market themselves without their content being removed? The answer would be to be very cautious of what you post to your public profile and make sure that your posts do not contain any sort of nudity or pornographic content. There are some sex workers who keep their Instagram private.
Another website to be cautious of is Patreon, a subscription based website for content creators where you can create tiers for different services. While the website is pretty popular among sex workers and does allow users to post nudity, it must be flagged as such or else you are at risk for removal. If you are using that platform to sell your services, then you must flag the profile as “adult content.”
According to their guidelines any content with mature themes must be labeled at “Patron Only,” and no nudity can be posted to your profile picture, banner, tier images or about me section. They also have stipulations in place for selling any pornographic content and even state in their guidelines that they will review any content that implies any sort of nudity or pornographic content if your page is not flagged correctly. The bottom line is to just be very careful when posting your NSFW content to this website if you choose to do so.
Marketing with a Sex Friendly Platform
While there are those select few websites that aren’t the best option to market with, there are some that are still sex worker friendly.
One of those websites is Twitter, which not only allows users to solicit online sex work but allows them to post content to their profiles that would be deemed pornographic. While there is an option to mark your profile as containing sensitive content, it is not mandatory, and you are free to post nude photos and videos containing sexual activities. If you are looking for a good social media platform to sell your content to without risk of removal, Twitter is the one to go with.
Another option would be Reddit, which has a variety of different communities looking to discuss a wide range of topics including sex work. They have “subreddits” specifically for users looking to buy and sell online sex services. To help prevent that sort of content getting into the hands of minors you do have to set your preferences to state that you are over the age of 18 so that you can view and post NSFW content. With there being subreddits on pretty much any topic it should be easy to find one that is geared toward the specific sexual service you offer or one for a certain kink or fetish.
