All over the country extreme heat conditions are in effect, and these high temperatures can dry out and dull delicate skin.
While skin care is important for cam models and content creators throughout the year, summer’s damaging rays is the time to take a few extra steps to keep skin looking its best.
Hydrate
One of the major ways to nourish your skin is to stay hydrated. This means avoiding juices that are not fresh squeezed, sodas (even diet) and any other aerated (carbonated) drinks. The best option is to grab a nice big glass of cold water.
The old advice of drinking eight glasses of water everyday has been updated with a new recommendation. People come in all shapes and sizes and a “one size fits all” approach meant that some people were getting too much water and others, too little.
If you want to assure you are drinking the right amount of water every day, first figure out your weight. For this example, assume your weight is 120 pounds. Divide that number in half, in this case the result would be 60. This means to stay properly hydrated you should drink 60 ounces of water per day or 7.5 glasses. This method is best to make sure you are drinking enough water for your body size.
Avoid Irritating Skin
Heat can also cause irritating skin conditions like heat rash, which can look like small blisters or deep red lumps that are usually accompanied by itching. This condition develops when sweat ducts become clogged. As a webcam model bumpy red skin will not look too appealing on camera.
Certain clothing can contribute to blocking sweat ducts and the rubbing of fabric against skin can also be a contributing factor. Heat rash can occur anywhere on the body where there are folds of skin including, but not limited to, the back of the neck, elbows, and groin area.
The best ways to avoid heat rash is to wear clothing made of cotton that is loose fitting. Refrain from wearing anything tight because this will only aggravate the condition. Also, avoid the heat as much as possible. If you must be outside, stay in the shade, and indoors use an air conditioner.
Sunscreen
Another way to pamper your skin is to always wear sunscreen when you leave your home. According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, everyone should use a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 15 when leaving the house. If you plan to be outside in the sun most of the day, they suggest a broad-spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF 30 or higher.
Simple Home Remedies
Coconut oil is a wonderful way to keep your skin soft all over your body. After you shower, liberally apply coconut oil to help trap in moisture.
Oat paste is a gentle exfoliator. Mix oatmeal and warm water to make a paste. Apply to your face and neck using gentle, circular motions and then rinse.
A simple mashed banana mask can moisturize and nourish skin, which helps to diminish signs of skin damage and aging. In a bowl, mash one ripe banana, add one teaspoon of plain yogurt and one teaspoon of orange juice. Mix everything together and apply to your face. Keep on for twenty minutes, and rinse with warm water.
Follow the above suggestions regularly and your skin always be cam ready by looking more radiant, soft and touchable.
