Yoga is the best! And World Yoga Day — aka The International Day of Yoga — is coming up on June 21st to help bring about awareness.
According to the United Nations (UN), 2021’s International Day of Yoga comes at a time when the “COVID-19 pandemic continues to upend lives and livelihoods of people globally.”
The organization continues, elaborating on the theme of “Yoga for well-being” and how the practice of yoga can promote the holistic health of every individual:
Beyond its immediate impact on physical health, the COVID-19 pandemic has also exacerbated psychological suffering and mental health problems, including depression and anxiety, as pandemic-related restrictions continue in various forms in many countries. This has highlighted the urgent need to address the mental health dimension of the pandemic, in addition to the physical health aspects.
The message of yoga in promoting both the physical and mental well-being of humanity has never been more relevant. A growing trend of people around the world embracing yoga to stay healthy and rejuvenated and to fight social isolation and depression has been witnessed during the pandemic. Yoga is also playing a significant role in the psycho-social care and rehabilitation of COVID-19 patients in quarantine and isolation. It is particularly helpful in allaying their fears and anxiety.
India via the UN is inviting the world (!!) to an online celebration this year — the 7th annual International Day of Yoga. This celebration happens on June 2021, from 8:30 to 10:00 am EST and will be broadcast live on UN WebTV.
In addition to this global initiative, Pineapple Support is partnering with XloveCam for a free, restorative yoga workshop for all industry workers on the same day. The online event, led by yoga teacher Eliza Belle, will take place on Monday June 21st at 2pm EST.
“XloveCam supports the actors of the adult entertainment sector in their well-being and sponsors the Restorative Yoga Workshop,” said XloveCam CEO Patrick Konings. “XloveCam.com cares about the comfort of the models registered on it’s platform. XLoveCam.com wishes to show that the company cares about the moral and physical well-being of the camgirls and camboys. This is why the company is financially helping Pineapple Support by becoming one of its sponsors.”
Pineapple Support founder Leya Tanit said, “Yoga helps improve overall well-being by relieving stress, supporting good health habits, and improving mental health, sleep, and balance… Eliza is a wonderful yoga teacher, trained in polyvagal theory, yoga for stress and burnout and dysfunctional breathing.”
“To celebrate World Yoga Day, we’re excited to partner with XloveCam for this workshop,” Tanit continued. “We welcome everyone in the industry to join us for this event and enjoy the restorative benefits of yoga practice.”
The Restorative Yoga Workshop will take place on Monday June 21st, at 2pm EST. For more information and to register for the workshop, visit: pineapplesupport.org/webinars/
