Back in 2019, we interviewed Marcus Quillan. In his interview, Quillan shared with us a bit about his background and path to the adult entertainment space as a clips creator, as well as his unique perspective as a man in the industry. He also told us about Thousand Face Films.
Per Quillan, “Thousand Faces is my creative outlet as a writer, director, editor, musician and sometimes performer. I love working for others, but it is near-impossible to be consistently hired for creative work in this industry, especially in the UK — or, in any industry it turns out. (Believe me, I’ve tried!) So, I still perform and work on other projects, as well as content-share and online clips, but most of my porn work is through Thousand Faces, which is higher-end, quirky, theatrical porn, all with original music, exploring kink, emotion, performance and ethics.”

And now, Quillan has shared another exciting development in his process with Thousand Faces: a subscription service!
Here is some press material we received…
Thousand Faces was created by Marcus Quillan, an actor, musician and adult model based in London. Inspired by indie, alternative and queer porn movements, as well as Quillan’s diverse performance background, the project seeks to make quirky, theatrical porn exploring artistry, kink, humor and emotion.
Now, this content can be accessed via subscription service at ThousandFacesFilms.com.
“We’re so excited to finally collect all our films in one place and offer a single supporter membership,” Quillan said.
With an all-new site and packed release schedule, the folks behind Thousand Faces Films are embracing the challenges and themes present in a pandemic-laden world. Recent releases covering topics such as socially-distanced seduction, outdoor “eco-sex” and connection through kink in a lockdown bubble can all be found within the new site. Content features UK-based and European performers including Kali Sudhra, Nat Portnoy and Luna Silver.
“This is huge for us as a non-profit indie project because all our sales go back into the films we make,” he continued. “We are self-funded with no investors or parent company, so every penny counts. And now we no longer have to rely on other platforms taking a large cut from our sales, meaning better paid performers and crew, as well as bigger, better, more regular releases!”
The brand new site now has features like 4K, smart-casting, behind-the-scenes, extended film notes and performer bios and links. Watch previews and sign up to their newsletter for free and/or become a supporter for full access at £9.99 a month at ThousandFacesFilms.com.
This is really interesting and impressive!
In addition to exploring new themes and contemporary issues via their content, Quillan and his collaborators have found new ways to create, distribute and maintain creative control of their content. This is pretty interesting and impressive. In addition to creating opportunity for work — which, hey, why not hit him up? — Quillan’s process throughout the last year might be helpful in terms of determining new ways to do create and maintain creative control.
Certainly worth consideration!
