The people behind AWSummit — a summertime IRL trade show with an emphasis on “tactical business advice and focusing on what it takes to boost your business growth” — recently announced a really neat-0 event happening later this month: AWMeetup.
Basically, it’s three days (April 27 – 29) of online conference-type business activity. There’s an “AWMeetup Talk Show,” a live streamed talk show where guest and experts discuss different industry-related topics (you can chat in to participate); virtual business booths, where different people and organizations will be able to show a presentation video or go live to answer questions; roundtable talks (up to six speakers) and speed networking — and all of this activity and information is free!
“Be part of the first ever live online industry event that makes everyone connect in real time to make business together,” the site reads.
Legit: There is no reason not to register for this and check it out.
Also, if you have a developing idea for a small business or are already making moves, ask about a virtual booth. This could be a good way to connect with others who might be interested in your idea, or simply a great way to refine your pitch and service articulation. You could also consider pitching a roundtable talk — why the hell not?! Put together a group of informed members of the community who can weigh in about something happening right now, collectively, as we are all physically apart. That’s basically invaluable!
Give it try, or give it a look. At “worst,” you get entertained and see some familiar faces. At best, you learn valuable stuff and make greater connections in the industry, which will certain serve you in the future.

Here is some press we received about the event:
Bucharest, Romania – AWSummit is creating an online event called AWMeetup to bring the industry together to do business online when it’s impossible to meet face to face under regular events.
From the 27th – 29th of April, AWMeetup will offer its participants everything they can expect from their event. There will be a live streamed talk show with expert guests from the industry to discuss various topics that are important for the industry right now.
On the first day, they will be offering a Speed Networking session where you will be paired up with a potential new business based on the type of ticket you register with. Here you will have a maximum 3 min cam to cam session to discuss potential business and exchange virtual business cards when you’re done.
Among other interactive things, you will find the Round Table sessions where anyone can come in and start their own discussion room. There can be up to 6 people on cam at the same time and it has its own chat for participants to take part in the discussion. Look at this as a panel from the regular events.
AWMeetup is also offering free virtual business booth for every company that wants one. Here the exhibitor can have their own branded spot during the meetup. They can have an offer that participants can opt-in to, a video explaining their business and even a go live and answer questions from the booth chat and invite people on cam. This will make you feel just like you where in their booth on the summit floor.
AWSummit has always been about bringing the industry together to do business, share education and experiences, says Roxana, The Event Director of AWSummit. So this is what we want to do with our new free online event AWMeetup. Registration is open now at www.awmeetup.com and the whole summit is for FREE.
“It’s important to add that this is not an replacement for our beloved AWSummit,” said Alex Gheorghe, Founder of AWSummit and NightProwl Studio. “The dates for AWSummit are still set between 25th and 28th of August, but we are monitoring the situation around COVID-19 from day to day and will come back with a statement regarding this in the end of May.”
