Author’s Note: Y’all, it’s my view/suggestion that you consider looking into this service, or some other sort of social media archiving service, *now* as opposed to later. It’s like that “save early, save often” mantra of computer days gone by. Once third party platforms of the Twitter-ilk decide to shut an account down, you’re basically out of luck.
I recently got to correspond with Dominic Ford, the person behind JustFor.Fans (JFF). Made by sex workers, for sex workers, JFF is a community that gives people the ability to monetize the content they create and interact with their fans — and so much more.
Now, ever the skilled problem-solver looking out for sex workers’ best interests, it seems that Ford has come up with yet another awesome service/solution — a social media archiving service called KeepFollowing.me.
(I fangirl so hard over this guy Dominic — whatever!)
Let’s consider KeepFollowing.me and social media archiving in general.
We’ve all observed or experienced this familiar, fucked up, story. Every day, members of the adult industry community have their accounts on Twitter and Instagram shut down. And every day, it seems like someone new is out there tweeting something like: “Hey this is so and so and this is my backup account, and please follow me here.”
For instance, below is Alana Evans helping Amberly Rothfield out by directing people to her/Rothfield’s backup account — @TheSexyAdvocate — when she was recently locked out of her main @AmberlyPSO account:
This has proven true – @AmberlyPSO is currently locked out of her twitter account- please follow her back up and be careful- many models have been affected. You get an email from Twitter telling you to log out of your twitter, and when you attempt to log back in, you can’t. https://t.co/CKmyGm6cuO

In Rothfield’s case, she was able to get access to her account back. But for many others, this is not the way it often goes down.
Enter KeepFollowing.me.
Guess who is BACK BITCHES

Created by Ford, KeepFollowing.me aims to solve this problem by enabling an influencer — a model, a performer, etc — to send out a Twitter message that reads something like, “Click this link to keep following me if my account changes.”
When an influencer’s follower clicks through that link and logs in via Twitter, they get registered in the KeepFollowing.me database and their connection to the performer is recorded. Then, if the influencer’s account ever gets shut down, KeepFollowing.me can automatically subscribe the user to the influencer’s new account and/or notify the user of the new account. This way, the influencer regains all of the followers who have registered, almost instantly.
The system launched with Twitter, but other social media platforms are being considered.
KeepFollowing.me is free for consumers (followers). For influencers, if they need their followers converted over to a new account, there is a fee set at $100 per every 20,000 accounts transferred. The service is free for influencers to use in advance of a shutdown, and people who actively use the JustFor.Fans, BelAmi.Fans and/or DragFor.Fans platforms can receive the KeepFollowing.me service for free, if they ever need it.
Take a look, and take a look now.
