Perfecting one’s Halloween lewk is nearly as important as figuring out what costume to wear come the sacred high holiday (also known as October 31st).
In fact, some people’s Halloween makeup scheme or fancy nail art is their Halloween costume.
To help inspire you, we’ve rounded up a handful of Halloween makeup styles and spooky nail art that’s perfect for Halloween night — and the days leading up to it!
Halloween makeup looks
1. She’s got candy corn eyes
Far too many people give this incredibly sugary candy a hard time. I mean, sure, there are far better seasonal candies out there, and, yes, you can only eat, like, two candy corn at a time without getting a toothache… But they are so darn adorable!
Show your adoration for this often-maligned seasonal candy by creating the look below. This Instagram makeup queen achieved her results by using a combination of beauty brands to create a “Halloween” smokey eye and perfectly petite candy corns.
2. I’m feeling nostalgic, witch
So, Hocus Pocus is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year… 25th! To celebrate, multiple theaters and television networks are playing the beloved classic. You, too, can celebrate this film and all its witchy charm by dressing as one of the mystical women in the film.
The photo below shows how a super talented woman created an on point Sarah Sanderson look. Sure, the outfit is amazing, but look at that eyebrow work! Her eyes! Those lips! And of course, that mole…
3. Hey, pumpkin
I have a tendency to love anything that’s pumpkin-related or pumpkin adjacent. So, of course I am destined to love this look. But honestly, who wouldn’t love executing and wearing this makeup scheme?
First off — the pumpkins. They were apparently crafted with a steady hand, and black eye shadow and liner. Add the adorable bat and shimmery glitter, and you get a playful and fun Halloween look that is a total showstopper.
Halloween nail art
The following picks are for the people who like to keep their makeup look effortless and simple but really love giving their nails a little extra TLC. If any of these inspire you, get to your manicurist ASAP.
4. Horror film fanatic
This chilling nail art should make any Friday the 13th fan squeal with delight. Although the simple black matte polish looks great and is seasonal on its own, that middle finger Jason nail takes this look over the top. So, Friday the 13th isn’t your thing? Choose any horror flick killer: Michael Myers, Freddy… the list goes on.
5. In stitches
If you are a Bride of Frankenstein, or simply a Frankenstein fan, I suggest you get on this nail look ASAP. That shade of green is to die for but, honestly, any bright, neon polish would work. And thankfully, stitches are easy to paint (as long as you have a steady hand).
