Being a cam model takes a lot of time, effort, sweat… tears… well, you know.
Within that context, one of the most important skills successful models typically learn and quickly perfect is the ability to efficiently manage time.
Thankfully, mastering basic time management skills can be simple if you consider the following.
What “other” activities really matter?
Camming (and your side job—if you have one) is the way you make money. So, working is, most likely, priority #1 in your book.
Outside of logging on, you’re going to need to look at your daily activity list long and hard. Really force yourself to figure out what activities actually serve you.
For example… Do you really like taking that 6 a.m. yoga class, or would you rather run on the trail behind your house, and stretch it out on your own time? Do you truly feel good after binge watching “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” on your day off (hey… some of us do…), or would you rather take a nap and go out for coffee?
All these seemingly small tasks and activities can add up, eating up time you’d rather spend somewhere else, doing something else.
Greatist reminds us that if a person sleeps eight hours and works eight hours (and we know… many of you work more than eight hours a day—we hear you), a person typically has eight free hours to do whatever they want, every day of the week. But does it always feel like that?
Where do you waste time?
We’ve all mindlessly scrolled through Twitter or Instagram for no apparent Earthly reason. Although this activity may seem totally harmless, it — and other similar activities — is a real time suck for models who are trying to make the most of their working and free time.
Noah Bensi, cam model, preaches that if a model wants to stay on top of their game, they must stay motivated and push their self.
Although Bensi is the first to admit that sometimes she, too, struggles to stay motivated, she knows that staying on track will make her more successful in the long run.
Don’t forget to schedule self care.
Last (here) but definitely not least, it is essential to remember that you can do all the above and still end up feeling empty. This continual drained, disconnected #currentmood can be stopped by scheduling real-deal me time.
Bensi is basically the queen of self care and love. In fact, the model recently made a video about the subject.
In the video, Bensi advises people to:
1. Profess your love to your self: You are your biggest supporter.
2. Maintain physical and mental health: Although maintaining physical health can make you feel generally better and more energized, mental health is essential to everyday happiness.
Bensi’s expert advice on the subject? “Mental health should never be compromised for anything or anyone.” We second her sentiment and feel compelled to add a hell yes.
3. Free your life of toxic habits and thoughts.
Head to Bensi’s YouTube channel to watch the rest of her on-point self love video for immediate inspiration.
And, hey — don’t beat yourself up if you over-schedule or forget to take yourself on that “me” date you planned. We all can lose track and find our priorities in a jumble.
Just remember that working towards time management now can truly help you lead a long, healthy and productive life.
