There are so many beautiful highlighters and palettes on the market at the minute that it’s hard to select one! Let’s have a look at some of the best from this season for everything from a gentle glow to a blinding flash both on cam and in your summer selfies.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dream Glow Kit
This palette is filled to the brim with unicorn/mermaid shimmery pastels. It’s a fabulous palette for festival highlight or even just a summer night out. Thanks to the super strong pigment in these highlighters they really stand out. The color reflects the light creating beautiful strobing effects across your skin.
The price point of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics is a little high, but they are a premium brand and the quality is evident in the product.
Revolution Soph X Highlighter Palette
For a drugstore palette, the Revolution Soph X palette performs like a high-end highlighter. There’s a broad selection of shades — from glowing golds to strobing pastels. It also includes a super icy white highlighter, which is perfect for using on the inner eye or brow bone added bright eyed sparkle.
This palette is a super value for the money and is one of my favourite day-to-day highlighters.
Morphe Bretman Rock Babe in Paradise Highlighter Palette
The Bretman Rock highlighter palette from Morphe offers six shimmery colors in natural shades. There is something in this palette for all skin tones, but there is more variety for those with darker complexions. The formulas are great, and it comes complete with its own fan brush!
NYX Holographic Halo Shimmer Stick
NYX is a fabulous brand for excellent quality drugstore makeup, and this strobe stick-style highlighter is no exception. It’s another of my makeup must-haves. The pay-off is amazing.
Because this is a crème highlighter, it’s super easy to swipe it where you want it, blend it in with your finger and pop it in your bag to take out with you. This isn’t a natural looking highlighter, but it gives effortless blinding flashes down your cheeks.
Too Faced Diamond Highlighter
This luxe highlighter is infused with real crushed diamonds for a super reflective finish. A prism of colors including pinks, blues and golds create dazzling flash and a glowing finish.
Although the price point on this one is higher, each highlighter is made by makeup artisans, ensuring each one is unique.
Kat Von D Alchemist Holographic Palette
Much like the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dream Glow kit, this highlighter palette is full of dreamy festival iridescent shades. This one isn’t for a natural look but for a stand out highlight, especially on cam. The pastel shades offer scope for play, and the finish is stunning. I’ve also known people use this palette to create eye looks. The pigment is so good!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy Highlighter
If pastel flash isn’t your thing but you want to rock that luxury glow, Amrezy may be the one for you. This stunning pale gold highlighter is in a shade which seems to suit most skin tones. The pay off is ridiculous and the pigment stunning. A gold shade is perfect over a tan, and this one is a summer favourite!
Urban Decay Holographic Disco Stick
Urban Decay’s newest highlighter offering comes in a super easy to apply stick. The formula leaves a holographic glow across your skin but can also be blended out for a subtler shimmery sheen. This is a fabulous day-to-night option and, thanks to its compact nature, it can be chucked in your bag to hit the club from the beach party.
ColourPop This Is for You Palette
ColourPop has a wonderful range of natural highlight shades in super creamy formulas. This lovely palette offers three shades. Morning After is a peachy shade with gold and pink highlights, Glad You Came is a warm ivory shade and Bigger and Better is a shimmery champagne. There is something to suit most skin tones in this palette, offering plenty of opportunity to play around with day to day highlight looks for a natural glow.
Wet n Wild Rainbow Bundle
A fabulous highlighter bundle containing just about every highlight you could ever need. This set has three multi-colour highlighters (Unicorn Glow, Bronze Over the Rainbow and Everlasting Glow) and also comes with a Unicorn highlighter brush.
For $12.99 this really is excellent value. You have the option of using individual shades out of each pan or swirling a brush across them all for a truly rainbow glow.
