There’s no two ways about it — We love Robyn Rihanna Fenty here at YNOT Cam. But we would be remiss if we didn’t at least ask… Is her Fenty Beauty line living up to the hype?
Short answer: Yes!
It’s not surprising that when Rihanna — singer, actor, fashion icon and ender of bad men in many of her music videos (see “Bitch Better Have My Money” below, also “Needed Me“) — announced she was launching a beauty line, her fans and beauty junkies freaked. And who could blame them? Rihanna is one of those people who always looks amazing, no matter the situation.
Although Rihanna tends to land everything she does, Fenty Beauty’s success wasn’t a sure thing. However, enough time has passed since the launch and it’s safe to say that Fenty’s users are hooked.
The following Fenty Beauty products are user-approved.
Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation
Fenty’s foundation has received a lot of press because of its impressive 40 color spread. And so far, it appears the foundation is living up to the hype. First, its skin tone range serves people with dark skin tones and super light skin tones—albino users have even sung praise to the line.
The foundation also boasts a sweat and humid-proof formula. It’s medium-to-full coverage and priced at $34.
Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer
This universal lip gloss features a peachy-bronze hue that’s “shot-through with shimmery gold flecks,” reported Harper’s Bazaar. “It’s balmy and hydrating but not sticky and has a subtle fruity-vanilla scent.”
Veronica de Souza confirms the gloss’ strengths. “I bought the Gloss Bomb when Fenty Beauty launched in September,” de Souza said in a recent Jezebel post. “It’s an amazing gloss that smells so, so good. You can layer it if you want blinding lips or just do a single coat. It’s worth every penny, which is a surprising thing to say about $18 lip gloss!”
Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick
“The Match Stix, which come in 20 matte shades and 10 shimmers, provide endless options for concealing, contouring, highlighting and eyeshadow,” USA Today reported.
USA Today’s testers really liked Fenty’s Chili Mango.
“I usually don’t use oranges in my daily makeup,” says tester and Life social media editor Anika Reed, “but this worked as a beautiful flush of color with a nice all-over shimmer.” Priced at $25.
Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter
Fenty’s highlighter line comes in six different hues. The line’s signature color is Trophy Wife, which is gold. Jezebel’s Madeleine Davies said she was surprised that the highlighter was rather subtle, “making it better for day-to-day use than going full glam,” she shared. “That said, I really like it for that purpose.” Priced at $34.
According to Clover Hope, also via Jezebel, everything she’s bought from the Fenty line is “good and reliable.” So far, Hope says she’s tried various shades of the Killawatt Highlighter, Match Stix, a highlighter brush, blotting powder, makeup sponge, lip paint, lip gloss and foundation.
If you’ve ever tried any of Fenty Beauty’s products, @ us. We’d love to hear how it worked for you, and if any of the products are your go-tos for creating a glam look on cam.
