Anyone can be a camgirl, but not anyone can be a successful one. You will need to put in a lot of effort, invest in yourself and work hard.
Both physical and psychological qualities can have an impact on a model’s success. Though the physical is somewhat arbitrary, often based on personal tastes and interests, a bad personality can ruin a client’s image of someone who looks perfect to them.
In many ways, it all comes down to the hustle – on cam, off line and in your own mind. Certain personality traits can really help with this. If you already have these qualities, that’s great, but you may consider working to develop the ones that are not innate.
Psychologically speaking, here are some traits that I’ve observed really helping models be successful in the camming industry.
Resilient
Camming is not an easy job, and it can get very tiring to stay on camera and always be active and engaging with members. You will have to deal with all sorts of people, and there are plenty of ways to get help with that — but you still have to get used to it and not let everything affect you.
This is where being resilient comes in. Being able to withstand or recover quickly from difficult conditions, like difficult situations online, is very important.

Ambitious
Money won’t just start raining on you immediately after you log in. You need to be motivated and to work really hard in order to make that happen. Furthermore, you’ll have to be patient, and understand that it takes time to reach the top of the top. Having a strong desire and determination to succeed – and acting on that desire – is key, both at the beginning and as your career online develops.

Sociable
The need to be friendly and sociable should be obvious. If you don’t like interacting with people or you prefer being alone, then this job may not be for you. Being a camgirl requires good social skills. Those can be learned, of course, but you also have to be a bit sociable by nature. You need to enjoy interacting with people from very diverse backgrounds and know how to handle them.

Open-minded
Aside from the fact that you’ll meet members with a lot of tastes in different things — some that you might have not heard of even — there is also a lot to learn about how to be a model.
Being open-minded when it comes to members’ wants and needs, as well as being open-minded to learning new ways to improve your game, is key. There’s a lot of advice you can get from more experienced camgirls, as well as from trainers. If you’re not willing and open-minded to learning, you won’t make it that far in this industry.

Flexible
Flexibility is very important in this industry. You have to, of course, still be yourself — but you also have to be willing to change and adapt your image on camera. Furthermore, you’ll have to learn to leave your problems at the door and separate your personal life from your camera life. This is not always easy, but tapping into flexibility can help make this manageable.

Disciplined
Being disciplined is perhaps the most important characteristic there is in cam. Regardless of your game or goals, a focused and controlled way of working will help you achieve success. Cam is a job like any other. You have to respect a schedule, work hard, get involved, respect your peers and other members of the community and listen to advice.
(BTW, “respect” doesn’t necessarily also mean like or agree with #justsayin)
These are some of the key qualities a camgirl should have in order to achieve success. Develop, grow and work on yourself, and you’ll surely start to see successes in your career.
