Twitter is almost a requirement on some workplace checklists of things cam models need to do. Twitter is one of the most important social media platforms.
Starting, maintaining and growing a Twitter presence can be a bit overwhelming, if not intimidating. Some people have so many followers and fancy banners and seem so witty and engaging all the time. How do you get into the Twitterverse from ground zero? How can you up your game to make the platform really work for you?
This post is not only for camgirls who want to create their own Twitter account, but also for those who want to improve their existing content. If you are curious why you should use Twitter in the first place and how to do it best in order to grow your fan base and your brand, read the tips below.
Twitter basics
Make your Twitter handle match your model name: Create your account using your performer name and make your profile public. Do not use the option to protect your tweets, as this prevents people from seeing them and you want to grow your account.
Bio basics: Make sure your bio section contains the most important and representative things about you and your work. Use tags or words that fit best: things that describe your occupation, hobbies or something really funny about you. Include links to your chat room and/or personal website. If you want people to know your birthday, then make that detail public.
Personalize your page: It may sound obvious, but make sure to have an avatar, great header and wallpaper. Personalize your page with your own colors for fonts. It’s pretty easy using HTML color codes.
Pro Tip: Unless you want your account suspended, don’t use nudity in your avatar, cover photos or tweets. Keep it decent and classy, especially in light of ever-changing terms of service and platform policies.

Be active!
Twitter is for updates: Tell your followers what you’re doing, when you go on cam, when you have a sale on your website, when you write a sexy blog post … everything. Keep in touch with them 24/7.
Engage, engage, engage: Reply and interact with people you follow. You want people to see you as genuine person, not just some robot who only tweets about how horny she is and wants members for her cam show. Once you create some connections with these people, hopefully, some of their followers will be interested and will start to follow and interact with you, as well. Keep things conversational and fun.
Twitter jargon: Learn the differences between tags, mentions, tweets, retweets and moments, as well as how to create and subscribe to a list in order to follow a specific group of people’s activity. At first it’s going to be tricky, but you’ll get the hang of it.
Pro Tip: It’s extremely important to use no more than two or three hashtags. Overdoing it looks fake, spammy or repetitive. Using hashtags, especially those that are trending, in a smart way will bring you new followers. Same rule applies when you @ mention a list of people: Do it wisely.
Be a strategic follower: A subtle way to showcase your own interests (and thus reveal another layer of your personality to your followers) is via who you follow. Choose to follow influencers, people you admire and other cam girls and models. Stay up-to-date with their work.

Twitter strategies for long-term growth
Carefully choose your audience and post at peak hours if you want bigger engagement. Also, use Twitter analytics if you want to know how your tweet activity went.
From time to time, you can use Twitter’s polls/survey function. It will make your fan base more interactive.
Use selfies and videos, and go live in order to increase your audience and show followers your friendly, positive side. Members also want to know your day-to-day life activities. Let’s say you just bought a new dress. Take a photo, post it and ask your followers if they like it. Why? Because you want to grow organically and not pay for ads that won’t make any difference.
