The internet is a many-splendored thing, packed with information about all sorts of topics and responses to endless questions and queries — including this interesting one: Do non-nude cam shows make money?
Here’s what was asked:
I’ve been thinking about doing cam shows on the side. I could use a little bump in the money department. However, I don’t think I can go nude on my public shows. Will I be alright? [sic]
Responses were insightful and interesting in many ways.
One person indicated the idea of a hard-and-fast no-nudity rule was a bit off mark.
In public shows, I would NEVER strip. That’s literally something I only do in private. There’s lots of public teasing, but never any flashing, and I stuck strong to that rule. It made the worth of my private sessions skyrocket.
Being in your underwear and never undressing is a kink. It’s harder, but possible if you’re willing to still masturbate on cam, just with some clothes on.
If you’re asking if you can make money NEVER doing anything pleasurable… it’s possible, but I wouldn’t waste your time. You’re missing out on the best part of the job, AND you’re asking customers to pay you or tip you for something they didn’t come for (no pun intended).
Another person had advice about a specific network:
If you are still willing to get nude in private chats then I personally suggest [Streamate]. I’ve been with [Streamate] for 2 years now, never show nudity in public chat – I simply sit and chat with guys until they take me. I barely flirt or tease, just a simple showing of my body front/back and I will be taken private and that’s where the big bucks are. I certainly do not consider myself to be struggling financially and it definitely makes the night more fun. I’m a STRONG advocate for the idea that you do not need to sell yourself heavily or be nude in public to make good money! Show off your personality. Guys who crave knowing who you are will just keep coming back for more. Good luck!!
The idea in the previous response — that there are people who are into just about anything, including the mystery of a model who just chats until taken private — is seconded in this response, too:
There is always money to be made doing just about anything. That said, it’s hit or miss. What works for some people doesn’t for others.
A lot of Dommes and Findommes do not do nudity, so that may be something you’d want to try. You could also specialize in niche fetishes that don’t necessarily require nudity like feet, smoking, CFNM, Femdom, strap on shows, etc.
More:
I know of a few models who specialize in CFNM (clothed female naked male) shows where men strip and follow the orders of a fully dressed cam girl — it’s a narrow niche, shows happen mostly over Skype — but it does quite well.
And then an IRL example got named:
Check out Tesla on mfc, she’s a non-nude cam girl who does really well.
Here Tesla is on MyFreeCams (MFC), and here she is on Insta at @TeslaWorld. (I bet you could ask her directly.)
Then this little barb popped up:
Sure! MFC is probably the best site for that.
…which was posted by someone who was also on MFC. Someone then clapped back with this little FYI:
However… MFC automatically records the private shows and makes them available to the customer after he has paid.
This is interesting on multiple levels. Networks recording shows from the back end for everything from records-keeping to repurposing content is not new or unusual. Make sure you check the terms of your contact before you sign and/or if you are concerned after the fact.
Check out this “Here’s My Question: Can a Network Re-sell My Shows?” for more info about re-selling shows.
But in the end:
[There are] some examples to say that it is doable, but generally speaking people who are willing to show more will make more. You could also not get nude in public shows and get occasional tips and stick to really performing in privates. You’ll have the option of letting the person receive a recording of it or not (I’m assuming one of the reasons you don’t want to get nude is you’re worried about your show ending up somewhere else).
Naked seems to be what sells, but not necessarily naked in public. The best approach — always — is to be honest with yourself about your limitations and be mindful about how and where the content you’re featured in may appear.
