What does your cam room say about you?
If your answer is “nothing,” reconsider. Far from being unimportant, your room is another piece in the collective story of your online self, and you’d never say your nails, outfit or toys were insignificant, would you? (Well, I guess that actually depends on your webcam schtick.)
Your broadcast area, be it a designated room or your entire house, frames and displays every show, chat and interaction you have. It’s a key part of each first impression and each sustained interaction. Consequently, it’s a big part of your workplace success.
With that in mind, HottyTean69 dishes about her broadcast areas and the things she thinks are absolute must-dos.
YNOT Cam: What’s your favorite broadcast setting. What’s best about your room?
HottyTean69: I’m broadcasting from my home, so I move around the house every day. Some days I’m working from the kitchen; some days I’m in the bedroom or living room. However, I have to say I love doing my kitchen shows the most. I have a lot of space in there and guys can see something different than just a bed, which if we’re honest is what you see in the majority of webcam models rooms.
My members eat with me, drink coffee with me, etc. I even invite my members to come private with me by asking them “Do you wanna have a coffee with me?” or “Should we have breakfast?” Working from my living room is also amazing. I have a big fireplace and, over Christmas, the decorations were perfect. Guys loved it a lot!
Beyond no identifying info or items, what are some decor must-haves and must-dos?
Let’s see… Candles are a definite yes, as you need to be able to change the mood in the room quickly and easily. What quicker and easier way than lighting a few candles? Flowers are a definite yes. Not only do they help to perk up your mood, but they add a little splash of color to your room, too. Add a few heels lying around, and you have that sexy, “messy” look.
For me, however, my most important item is a simple blackboard so that I can interact with all my members and play fun games with them, like competing for prizes between my top tippers.
Does redecorating change your income?
Well, since I move to various rooms round the house, I don’t need to decorate or change anything very often at all. Beyond that, though, I think it’s defiantly important to have a clean, tidy environment to work in. After all, members don’t want to see you living in scruffy conditions. Saying this is the “natural” look, I find, works better as the members feel they are seeing the real you.
But does redecorating change your income? I think, yes, it does. Firstly, because you will feel better in a nice, clean, redecorated environment, and we all know our mood can affect our income hugely. And secondly, with all the high-tech HD cameras nowadays that show off every nook and cranny on cam, you need to keep your room fresh, light and clean.
What about freshening your decor on a budget? Any tips?
You don’t need to spend a fortune on decorations. You can easily decorate on a budget. Depending on the room you are broadcasting from, all you really need is a lick of paint and some color, which can be pillows, duvet, paintings, etc. Then you’re ready to go!
