Coulrophilia: titillation by clown.
Emetophile: someone who gets off on vomit.
Diapering, sounding, foot worship, and knismolagnia (arousal by tickling)…
What charges people up sexually is endlessly variable. Anything outside vanilla heterosexual or homosexual erotic play often is called a “sexual fetish.” Though sexual fetish has a specific scientific meaning, in terms of everyday discourse, sexual fetish just refers to sexual interest in specific objects and/or activities.
All sexual fetishes, as long as consent is involved, are great. But that doesn’t mean all fetishes are frequent or common. Some are even unusual within the context of sex work and cam. Feet, for instance, are a more commonplace object of desire than clowns, both in the mainstream world and, consequently, within the context of webcam as well.
What separates an “ordinary” fetish from an uncommon desire is largely a product of social norms, but you still must deal with everything thrown at you online. How do you, as a model, effectively interact with clients who have unusual tastes, some of which you may never have heard of, much less share an interest in?
According to UrCuteSarah, an ImLive model in her mid-20s who’s been camming for more than three years, the most unusual fetish she’s come across involves balloons.
“I had a member once that wanted me to swell up balloons until they would pop, just to see how long he could last,” she said. “So I started to swell the balloons until they popped, and I was watching his reactions. It was making him feel extremely good. And on the third balloon, he couldn’t resist anymore. That was the moment I realized that men can have many different fetishes, and they don’t have to be related to sexual acts only.”
As a model, Sarah recommends acting as normal and natural as possible when presented with unusual situations.
“When you find out about the member’s fetishes or fantasies, no matter how unusual or strange they could be, you must not react like it’s something that you have never heard of before or something that you wouldn’t be willing to do, even if it is the first time you’re in such a situation,” Sarah advised. “Be normal, be yourself, and feel free to join him in his wildest thoughts. Show him that he is not a freak and that he could find in you the perfect woman for his needs, and that way you will make that member come back to you for sure. Be as crazy as he is and have fun together.”
One good way to prepare for fetishes you’ve never come across before is to familiarize yourself with their mere existence. So even though these types of articles are kind of sassy, you can read about a bunch of different sexual fetishes on super mainstream websites like The Chive. (Definitely not the best resource for in-depth information, but a peek at how many fetishes exist.)
Vanessza, who’s also in her mid-20s, has been online for nearly two years. She currently cams on ImLive and has come across several unusual fetishes in her day. In her view, the most unusual one is tickling.
“A member that wanted me to tickle him with my nails,” she said. “That was the only thing that could excite him and get him in the mood for real. I had to pretend to tickle him with my fingers. He wanted me to do it slowly at the first, then faster and faster. And then I realized that for him, this was what could mean a good time.”
For Vanessza, a relatively softcore fetish, tickling, was unusual, due largely to what she had experienced on cam herself.
“I’ve met many people with different sexual fetishes, soft and hardcore, including verbal humiliation and violence,” she said. “That’s something that I was used to, but never a person that had such a fetish as tickling.”
As Vanessza’s experience shows, model experience factors into what may count as unusual. A model who has encountered harder fetishes may be surprised by something like soft tickling.
“It may sound silly or funny, but for me it was something that I didn’t experience before,” she said.
So, what does she suggest models do with a client who has a fetish she’s never dealt with or heard of before?
“Indeed, it’s not easy to interact with a person that has an ‘unusual’ fetish, especially if you find it unusual for yourself,” Vanessza explained. “But I think that a host should act relaxed and natural when she is in such a situation and not look surprised when the member reveals his most hidden thoughts in front of her.”
“There are people with hidden thoughts that society wouldn’t understand, so they come online to share their fetishes with cam girls,” she continued. “That’s the only way they can make their thoughts come true. No matter how weird or freaky it seems to you, as a professional host, you should never make the clients feel ashamed of who they are.”
From lingerie to macrophilia — a role-play fetish fantasy wherein tiny men are erotically overwhelmed after being taken prisoner by giantesses — fetishes run the gamut. As long as you feel safe and comfortable exploring the fantasy, it’s part of a model’s job to go there with her clients. Arm yourself with information, an open mind, and a good poker face, and you will have your clients coming back for more every time.
